Chocolate question?!


Question: if we are trying to lose weught is it okay to have a 3 muskateers bar once in awhile? I know probably not but my friend said if we deny certain cravings it will make us go off our diet totally---??thanks

Yes you can! I know that's what you wanted to hear (lol). When you are dieting the key is moderation. If you want to treat yourself do it. Your friend is right if you totally deny yourself you are more prone to quitting. Just make sure you do not allow one small candy bar to turn into a whole pack, and so on.

Yes denying urself is definelty not the way to go, it is just setting urself up to feel like you failed. The best suggestion is to buy a bag of snack size candy bars, and only allow yourself to eat one. This way you still get ur sweet fix while avoiding all the sugar and unwanted calories of a regular size candy bar.

Try getting a snack sized bar and start like that, then start eating only half of it and putting the other half in the fridge for tomorrow. You friend is right in some way but we shouldnt accomodate unhealthy eating into your lifestyle if your doing something like dieting probably the best bet is to try to ween yourself off it completely or keep it under control, like 1 chocolate bar every other day or once a week depending on what you want.

to be honest, NO, but once in a while since I am trying to lose weight, i have night cravings so i just do the chew and spit so i can taste it

chocolate and pop are really bad i have come to learn
i gained weight from hershey's kisses eating back to back in my bed at nights lol but once in a while do it in the daytime if you really really want so that it wont take a big toll on you

and the more i deny it at night the more i crave for it, the next morning i drop a pound

Well, it depends on what you mean by once in a while, AND it depends on how your body handles it.

For some people, it is ok to have a chocolate bar once a week so that they can avoid a binge session from craving sweets too much. If your body can handle a chocolate bar once a week, or once every 4 days, or whatever, then that's probably fine.

Personally, I couldn't cut chocolate out of my diet altogether; my advice for you is instead of buying a chocolate bar (which are usually labelled "candy bars" -- they're not allowed to call them chocolate because they use oils instead of cocoa butter) you could buy a small amount of dark chocolate chips. These will satesfy any chocolate and sugar cravings you have, without oils and preservatives that are in candy bars.
