I am currently counting calories using a great computer program . Would Weight W!

Question: Would Weight Watchers be better since it incorporates fat content? Or does calorie counting work just as well for losing weight?

The program I use is CalorieKing for Mac. I also reenter the data for PeerTrainer.

Are the WW's meetings really helpful?

Calorie counting works great. I'm a nutrition student and this is what I do. A great way of keeping track though is in addition to the calories, keep an eye on what is in the foods on the nutrition facts label. The % listed is the percent of what you should be consuming in a day, not how much of that is in the food. ie. 40% saturated fat doesn't mean 40% of the food is saturated fat, it means that the particular serving of that food contains 40% of what you should be consuming in a day. Make sure you keep saturated fats low, but mono- and polyunsaturated fats are good for you, so make sure you don't cut those out of your diet. Also, sodium, cholesterol and fiber are other important parts of your diet. Honestly, I use the book nutrition for dummies for quick reference, it can help a lot and I'd suggest getting it if you would like to learn more. :-)

I honestly don't know much about Weight Watchers, so I don't want to give you the wrong information about that.
