Any suggestions for this diet problem?!


Question: I really need to lose weight and have been eating the proper things and excercising but the problem i have is i do well all day and then after 8pm i get so hungry i cant stand it and i know eating this late is why i am not losing weight like i should be-but i really cant seem to control it--its not like i feel i get so hungry at this time because i starve myself all day i do eat right-any suggestions at all ? Also if i absolutely have to eat something so late what should it be?? would crackers be okay? please help -thank you

are you eating three times a day or six times a day? How much protein and fiber is in your last meal of the day?

If you break your meals up into six smaller ones you will feel less hungry throughout the day.

If you are starving at the end of the day, there's a reason. Adjust what you are eating throughout the day so that when 8pm rolls around you can grab a banana, or 2 oz of low fat cheese, or a handful of trail mix.

Another thing you can do:
-when you get hungry at this time, right down exactly how you feel, are you tired, angry, upset, happy? See if you are feeling the same thing at this time when hunger takes over, maybe it has nothing to do with food, but eating to fulfil an emotional requirement.

-drink a full glass of water. sometimes we mistake thirst for a carbohydrate craving, by drinking a whole glass of water this feeling of hunger may go away.

I would not reccomend crackers so late at night (or at all really, they are full of hiddent trans and saturated fat!)

if you drink ALOT of water it will fill you up and you wont even want to eat or go do something to distract you from thinking about food.

I am in the same boat as you.Trying to loose weight and hate feeling hungry.I have cereal with skim milk and artificial sweetener.Or cup of soups that aren't creamy,or lite yogurts.Drink lots of water.Good luck!

Starving your self is the reason you are not loosing weight because your metabolism slows down to compensate. In order to loose wait you need to eat 6 small meals a day.

I follow a Weight Watchers type of program and find that if I eat, for breakfast, low calorie/high fiber foods such as a 3 egg white/vegetable omelette with whole wheat toast (3+ grams of fiber per slice) and a piece of fruit, or high protein/fiber cereal with fruit and skim milk; then salad or vegetables with grilled fish (salmon) or chicken or whole wheat pasta with diced tomatoes, maybe a piece of fruit for lunch and dinner, then you can still have some microwave popcorn (Smart Pop) or sugar free Jello pudding or a low fat WW, Lean Cuisine, etc., dessert with a glass of skim milk in the evening.
