Fountain of youth...any method to the madness?!

Question: anyone have a philosophy on this one?

Answers: anyone have a philosophy on this one?

I think there are things we can do to foster a longer life and better health IE. hydration, lower free radicals, avoid hydrogenated foods, dont smoke, etc.
but as far as fountain of youth. Our bodies are increasingly bombarded with destruction. ozone, pollution, radio waves, unnatural foods and ad datives.
All we car do is PRAY! and hope to make it too a better place. Sew now, you will reap it later! (look that one up?)

I think it's a lot more madness than method actually. Our society simply places more emphasis on maintaining a youthful appearance, and people respond to that. I notice the whole "fountain of youth" thing seems to put more emphasis on looks than actual health and fitness. It also doesn't take into consideration that the aging process is normal, and there are some changes you just can't stop. And some you probably shouldn't try to- like menopause and decreasing sperm production. I think it's about time we stopped worrying about the number of grey hairs and wrinkles on the package and started paying more attention to maintaining what is inside it. We might also learn to have more appreciation for age and experience, learning to accept the wrinkles and greys as medals of honor for having lived, and presumably learned, for long enough to earn them. My grandfather used to say you didn't put old wine in new wineskins. There's more to that idea than just preventing a burst of the container- though of course, that too might apply in some cases.
