Help! I've lost 40 pounds - how do I KEEP it off???!

Question: Over the past year I've quit smoking, started exercising (treadmill one hour per day) and gone on diet of basically just raw vegetables and lean cuisines (some fruit and yogurt for snacks) - and now about 8 months later, I'm down to my goal weight 160 lbs and wondering - how do I KEEP it off?

I know I will continue to exercise every day - and keep all the junk food (sweets, soft drinks, fast food, potato chips, etc.) out of my diet - but I'd like to eat something other than a Lean Cuisine and Tomato for dinner every night!

Be very interested in your advice and opinions - THANK YOU!

Go to Lifescript.com They have healthy recipes that you can cook for yourself. Basically, it's a healthy website which offers you healthy recipes and exercise ideas. Good luck to you and congrats on losing 60 pounds already!

stay with the program

your doing great keep it up and you,ll be ok

Substitue the lean cusines with youre own meals but avoid breads white rice you know lots of veggies with ur dinner
maybe exercise a tad bit more youll be fine

You dont have to eat only Lean Cuisines and Tomatos, but the best way to keep the pounds off is to eat healthyly and keep exersising, try other healthy food

try some cucumbers with ricotta cheese over it!

also try some low fat spanish rice with pinto beans, and a low-fat-skim-milk-4-cheese cheese! :) yyumm....

also, you could have some low fat ravioli with a light pasta sauce with herbs on it!

and some green tea that helps speed your metabolism!

wow. congrats! basically just exercise its ok to have some unhealthy stuff. as long as its in moderation. i know its hard. i tried.
is that all you did? it would be great if i lost 40 pounds. try fruit. and whole grain bread. try some other foods. weight watchers is a great program. you should try it.

Good luck!

Congratulations! I think you have the right idea and the right mindset. You might consider taking a cooking class or subscribing to something like Cooking Light magazine. That will give you more options for healthy eating. Also, think about taking up a sport or another activity like biking or swimming. The idea is to avoid becoming bored with your workouts. And, if you start participating in a local sports team, it can give you an opportunity to meet like minded people. Good luck!

Whats your secret? Cmon u didnt eat raw vegetables the whole time, PLEASE!!

watch ur diet closely

what worked for me was a combination of downloads, cds and dvds. I used the exercise dvd from beachbody.com called P90X. I used the weight loss and remove the sugar addiction from independentachievement.com All worked great. I got the idea from my co-workers who saw someone else recommend them from these Answers!

thats great congrats and just stick to what ur doing to keep the weight off and if u relapse its ok talk to a friend

Take up weight lifting; it burns tons of calories allowing you to eat more of a variety of foods (even some forbidden foods) and simultaneously keep off the excess fat, and it builds muscle mass (which weighs heavier than fat), but it redistributes your body weight in the proper locations and reduces inches where you don't want it (your waist, stomach, etc.)... and you end up looking much better.

Incidentally, congrats!!! ...on the weight loss!!! That's quite an achievement!!!
