Please HELP me with ideas on how to get MOTIVATED!!!! I am so lazy.?!

Question: Lets go back a little and give you my usual routine. I work 8 to 5 (mon. thru fri.) at a job I hate. I don't roll outta bed till 7:20 and I hate getting up, I am tired and sleepy all day long, when I get off work in the afternoons all I do is lay around and nap, get in bed about 10 or 11 and when the alarm goes off in the morning, same ole routine. I don't have any kids and it's just me and my fiancee at home and he is about the same as I am. The most we do is clean up and cook. Well, I decided I wanted to do something with my life so I started college. I now go to college 2 hours after my full time job mon. thru thurs. and now I am more tired and exhausted than I was before. I think what I need to do is exercise to keep me from being lazy. How can I motivate myself to either 1) get up eariler or 2) excerise in the evening time? I don't want to do either one of them but I know I need to. Also, does anyone else have this problem? Thanks for advice.

First things first, stop smoking pot... just kidding.
Good news though, you don't have to work out to be not lazy. Working out will make you even more tired and it sounds like you already have a hectic schedule. Now if you just want to go for a run or something in the morning, that could help alot! Just a small 10-15 min jog. Getting a friend to go with you (or you husband) is a good idea too. Jogging in the morning can help you wake up more than anything, and all you have to do is roll out of bed through some crappy old clothes on and go.

Another tip would be to have a BIG breakfeast, with LOTS of carbs and fruits. Lots of carbs in the morning can keep you energized ALL day.

good luck with college and i hope this helped

To motivate yourself to get up and exercise you will probably need a friend. Find someone to work out with, that way when you don't want to get up and do it, you have someone else depending on you. That should help you get up.

Bring your fiancee with you.

just walk a few mins a day. that is exercising.

I used to be a lazy bum just like you. :)

I discovered that there's a difference between talking about it and actually DOING it. It's a matter of priority.

In order to succeed at anything, you have to start thinking positively. Stop telling yourself how tired you are. Stop dwelling on all the negative "I can't, I won't" thoughts, and replace them with "I can, I will"!

Maintaining a schedule is all about time management. Allow your workout time to be personal time. Don't think of it as a chore, think of it as self-improvement! Seriously, think about the amount of time you spend watching mind-numbing tv, or on the internet. Couldn't you do something more productive with that time?

Once you start being more active, you'll be amazed at the amount of energy you have. Your self-esteem will be better, you'll feel more motivated at work... even your sex life will pick up.

Just get out there and do it. You can if you really dedicate yourself to it. Make the commitment! :)

try exercising with your fiancee. I have the same problem, I can't get motivated. maybe you should reconsider your job. if you hate it, what is the point? if you are not happy, then you will never find motivation. you might make less money else where, but what is really important to you? don't let life pass you by, or you will wake up one day, and wonder where it went. start living, and everyday you wake up, say this is going to be a good day, even if you don't believe it. when something bad happens at work, I am going to be ok, think this even if you dont believe it. things will work out for you, you just have to try, even if you dont understand why or what you want.

Make activity planning for daily, weekly and monthly.

Bill Gates is success man, he always make planning.

okay to start out... i know it sounds wierd but i think you might be sleeping too much. If you sleep too much it can acctually over-tire you.- stupid but true. You might want to look into medical reasons why you are so tired... maybe mono?

Ill tell you that i work a job 8-530 mon-fri and i go to school three nights a week tue-thu until 10pm. I also wake up every morning at 445 and go to the gym- i shower and get ready for work there. I have now gotten into the routine and to be honest i feel i have more energy at the end of the day.

my motivation is traffic--- if i get up early it takes me 20-30 mins to get to work as opposed to an hour and a half sitting in traffic. I feel i do my best work in the morning so it is easier for me to workout then.

Good Luck!

Well i don't have the same problem but there are times i don't want to workout. what i did was i joined a gym and i thought that if i'm paying for it i better use it! thats what got me going and whats great about it is the gym i go to is open 24 hours so that way you can forget about waking up at the crack of dawn and go whatever time you want to go!
