WTH?! Im looking for a tredmill and i weigh 360 but dont want to spend a lot?!


Question: Ive decided this year is the year to lose this weight, for me and my daughter. I weigh 360 lbs and im 6'2". I plan to get a treadmill and walk it off. im just gonna get home from work, eat and walk till its bed time. WHY ARE ALL TREADMILLS WITH A LB LIMIT OVER 325 ALL LIKE 1500$? I refuse to pay that when you can buy treadmills for like 200 bucks and t.ms with tvs, ipods, and radios, ect for like 500$ as long as your like 200lbs. I dont get it, isnt the point of these to lose weight? Anyway does anyone know of a treadmill with a 350-400lb weight limit for 1000$ or less? I dont plan on running i just want it for walking. prefferably 600-800$.

Until you are able to find one, try walking around your neighborhood or workplace. Just keep water handy.

Keep a look for ads, yard sales, and call your local stores, like Penneys and sears. Ask them for information about the limits on treadmills and ask if they know of anyone who orders or knows where to look for ones that are in your range of weight.. then wait for it to go on sale.

Either hit up the yard sales, or just walk around the neighborhood for free until you lose some weight.

You could have some luck looking at for sale ads in the local papers. Some people buy expensive machines and finally sell them after not using them. Just make sure you test them out prior to offering to buy.

I repair treadmills for a commercial gym in the Sacramento area and have been for the last four years. I have seen an assortment of treadmills come through my gyms and can tell you, buy Life Fitness, Star Trac, or Technogym. Stay away from Precor and any residential grade equipment, total crap for everyday use. Make sure the treadmill has an AC motor that is at least 4-6hp. And whatever you do, keep the machine clean. Treadmills require loads of maintenance and money for repairs, if you get one of the three I listed you will be happy with your purchase even though it is over $1500. Try National Gym Supply, Sportsmith, or Global Fitness for remanufacturered machines. Better yet join a gym and put their treadmills to the test.

you should of thought about this problem before you got that heavy. you are too big for an unsterdy treadmill, either you can invest and buy one that is for people your size or take your chances on a 200 lb limit one.
