When trying to diet, what things....?!

Question: do you personally look at?
1) IE: Carbs, Calories, Fat content, Fat to Calorie?

2)What foods do/did you eat? and stay away from?

3) what do/did you crave and what foods do you use to "off-set" the cravings.

4)How does/did this diet work for you? (results, keeping results, easy to follow, fighting temptation)

5) what was the hardest thing about it?

I have my own style/type that works for me, but may not work for others. Just looking for other peoples stories.

5) what was the hardest thing about it?

I have my own style/type that works for me, but may not work for others. Just looking for other peoples stories.

1) I look for grams of fat and serving sizes.

2) I eat a lot of fruits, (oranges, apples, bananas, etc.), vegetables, (beans, lettuce, corn, peppers, etc.), and whole grains. Sometimes, however, I have a little bit of chocolate because if I completely deprive myself of it, I find that I crash and eat a whole lot at one time. I tend to stay away from foods with a lot of fat, especially trans fat, and foods high in sugar.

3) I crave chocolate A LOT. xD I let myself have a little here and there, and I'd rather it be dark chocolate simple because it's healthier for you. If I'm really craving something that I don't want to eat, I grab a bottle of water or chew a piece of gum.

4) Well, I don't exactly call it "a diet". It's more a lifestyle change. I never used to eat horribly, but I sure used to eat more chips and cookies and such. I've found I feel a lot better mentally and physically from eating healthier and exercising a lot each day.

5) Hmm, the hardest thing is keeping myself away from "bad" foods. I just have to remind myself that I don't need it and it won't do any good for me.

I wouldn't say I diet, I eat healthy because I workout regularly and I feel like if I eat like crap my gym visit ends up being pointless.

I RARELY eat "fast food"...maybe 4 times a year. Pizza maybe once a month although I do make "Margherita" pizzas at home (basil, Roma tomato, pesto, cheese)

I only "watch" calories. In doing just that one thing I can eliminate most bad foods. I don't drink soda (1-2 a week MAYBE), drink 60+ ounces of water a day. Turkey is my main protein source. LOTS of veggies and greens. Snack on pot popped popcorn with Canola Oil. Don't eat past 7pm.

I do still indulge in french fries (home fried in Canola). For my sweet cravings I usually have a yogurt, protein bar (Luna or Zone), or miniature Snickers Ice Cream Bar (90 cals).

1. You should only eat 1200 calories a day.

2. Avoid foods that are high in fat and calories. Go for healthier options. A bag of Ruffles chips is VERY high in calories so you can't eat as many as in a bag of Ruffles Light chips. Make healthier choices. Find foods high in fiber.

3. Instead of chips eat popcorn. Instead of butter use spray butter. Instead of eggs use egg beaters. There are a lot of healthier options out there. I crave candy so I eat fat free fruity candy (or fruit snacks) instead of chocolate. Sugar free chocolate is good too, and after awhile you will get used to the taste.

4. I learned all of this by joining weight watchers online for $16 a month. They help you keep track of what you eat (food tracker) and a weight loss chart. I lost 15 pounds and my fiance lost 40 pounds (in 6 months) on weight watchers. It is super easy and you can eat whatever you want, you just have to find things low in "points" (calories and fat).

5. The hardest thing is learning what to eat - you want to be able to have a lot of something healthy instead of a little of something unhealthy. Once you learn their system, it's super easy. They have over a million recipes on their site with calorie content and everything.

no not just how they look check them out wear they live & get to know thembefore you judeg.
