How can I find the motivation to loose weight?!

Question: I am 250lbs 5'11" and 23 years old. This is the fattest I've ever been. In the Army I weighed 173lbs, and exercised 15 hours a week. I was driven by loneliness, anger, oppression, and desire. After I got out I started college, and got up to 225lbs. Than I changed schools, got a job and got down to 205, a good 10lbs was muscle. Than I changed back to my old school and quit work and now I'm 250lbs.

In the Army I got down to 173lbs, because I wanted to get promoted and i wanted to get a girlfriend. That never happened so I gained weight. I need a girl to lust after, to empress, I can't do it for myself, It has to be for a girl. When I started work after changing schools there was three good looking girls, and they inspired me to work out, and diet.

Now I'm going to film school, and the ratio of women to men, is 1:20. There are three girls in my class, and I'm in the same class till graduation. They're all take, too. I live in a dangerous apartment complex, with no gym and have no car.

i could just tell by the way u said it, u kno its an issue that u only r motivated to look good for a girl. lots of ppl are like that, but its not a good ting ya kno that prob, ill admit i dress and fix up 2 impress, who doesnt. but at the same time i like to literally feel good about myself. y do u want to change and lose weight. cause u want a girl or u kno ull honestly feel beter about urself?

my cousin used 2 be very overwight. overwieght most of her life. she got gastric bypass surgery, she was always beautiful, but now shes even got a great body 2 sho woff and be confident about. but she is dpressed, still doesnt have her own place, her own car, and gues what she doesnt have a man next 2 her ethier. why ? its other issues. yea appearance matters, 4 some ppl it honestly is a huge issue, they r happy with thsemlves but wis hthe ycould he healthier and live a better lifestyle. some others, there is much more behind there sad unmotivated lives. for her i kno there was, and she took all her energy and thought into believing if she had the perfeect body, she would get everytihng she wanted out of life. thats wrong.

u should want to loose weight MAINLY to be healthy. appearance is next. but the main issue is always , i wanna live long and be healthy. but if u honestly r only motivated 2 look good for a girl, when u look good u prob will have issues too. u need to be motivated to live life for U. everyone should want to have fun, be healthy, and kno they r gonna live strong and healthy. looking good is a bonus, but feelin confident about urself is just as important as bein healthy. i kno plenty of not that attactive ppl who r amazingly confident ppl just love them that way.

so ur drive should be that u need 2 be confident, and have some fun. enjoy ur life. life is good, do **** that makes u feel good, dont b afraid, and motivate urself to do what u want for urself.

I found the motivation came when I started losing the weight. Every time I hop on the scales now... and they show I've lost a couple more pounds, that's a huge motivator to keep me going.

And yes... I've had a few set backs. Christmas/New Year were messy. But because I had already lost so much weight, I viewed those gains as just 'blips' and nothing to be worried about. I then got back on the straight and narrow, and lost the weight (and a few extra pounds) the next week.

So my suggestion to you is to find a diet that is "real" for you. And by that, I mean something that you can stick to for the rest of your life. Not one of those stupid 12-week "fad" diets you see in the magazines. Any diet that says you can't eat your favourite food or have a celebratory drink is not realistic. Life is for living... not dieting!

So find a regime that works for you. And once you see the scales dipping lower and lower, I'm sure you'll find the motivation to keep going.

Good luck.
