neither. both of those just tone your abs. Power walkng, running, jogging will work better on your lower abs. Or one of my favorites is use a chair and sit down and stand up as many times a you can. Remember to keep your back straight

Edit... i cant beleive Hulagirl didnt say anything about hula hooping.... seriously i'm a guy and i know how much that works to flatten your abs

sit ups

crunches, and bicycles

Leg extended crunches.

You feel the burn right away.

crunches, there pretty much the best abdominal exercise, although you need to do a variation of ab work outs for optimal results ( and do them proper form !!!)

crunchies? there nice

Aren't they the same thing

sit ups

both, meowwwwww

situps

well you look just fine but if you must crunches

Crunches make you look hot

Do both just be safe. Then call me babe.

I'll think sit ups are better, but thats is my opinion.

Greets
Franky

There is no answer to that . They work different types of muscles.

I'm not sure, but i think that sit-ups would be better b/c you use your stomach more, which means you would be burning more calories.

Both are good. Some people will claim one is better than the other but they're full of shti.

crunches
sit ups make your hips widen

Crunches,....they put less stress on your neck..

Crunches if you do 500 a day for sit up it works with th lower stomach and much more

Crunches do the same amount of work that sit ups do, and if you have the right equipment, then they also are way less likely to injure you. I suggest getting one of those big exercise balls. I have one, and it allows me to do 3 different ab exercises. It comes with instructions.

You can get one of them here:

lower stomach? crunches!
y?

well because sit ups you go up all the way and that will start to use you upper abs and your legs. crunches isolate the mid section and it doesn't involve other muscles.

also to get flatter abs you need to lose the flat around your abs which just means losing fat in general. crunches don't really directly flatten abs. the strengthen muscles.

Bicycles and planks are best for toning and flattening your stomach!

I used to do countless crunches and sit up but i ordered hip hop abs the whole set and my god what a difference in my abs i have had 4 children never thought i could look this good at my age (47) go to the website and look it over it cost 80 bucks but worth every penny i have been doing it 3 months and it is the best work out i ever tried..

do a combination of both, they both work the abs but different amounts in different areas. also try doing twist sit-ups to firm up the sides of your stomach, do 3 sets 10 reps of each (total 90) in one session to begin with, everyday, although i have to add the best way to get a flat stomach is running steady at distance

CRUNCHES!!! And bicycles are awesome.
Also laying on your back and lifting your legs and upper part of your body in a "V" shape and holding it.

For best results for crunches try the bender ball.

Experts say that sit-ups can be damaging to your back...if you are looking to improve your lower abs, reverse crunches will help more then regular crunches...lay flat on the ground with some padding under you and legs straight, focus on keeping your legs straight and raise them into the air perpendicular to the upper half of your body...good luck

crunchs are easier and they halp you abs
i prefer crunchs
situps hurt my back

Both are good but sometime sit-ups do not work i think crunches are better.

Double Straight Legged Stretch
I went over this exercise on the Pilates page. It is very, very good for toning up the lower abdominal area. In fact, after about 5 repetitions you can really feel that area working.
To perform this exercise:

1. Lie on your back with your legs straight.

2. Slowly raise your head and neck off the mat as if you're starting a basic crunch. Place your hands behind your head.

3. Bend both legs in and raise them off the floor then straighten and point them in the air at 11 o'clock. Keep your head and neck off the floor.

4. Slowly move both legs down (keeping them together and as straight as you can) until they are about a foot from the floor.

5. Now raise them back up and begin again.

6. Repeat this 10 times.

You should really feel your lower abdominal muscles working after only a few repetitions. As you get comfortable with them, push yourself to do more and more.

neither, put ur finger in ur mouth and down ur throat. Results IMMEDIATELY!
