Losing 2 lbs a week?!


Question: i would like to lose a total of 15-20 lbs. to lose 2 lbs a week i would have to have a loss of 7000 caloies. which means losing 1000 calories a day.

to do this do i work out my bmr (which i think is 1800). then subtract the amout of calories i want to lose a day (which is 1000) and i am left to eat 800 calories a day.

does this sound rite? will i be able to lose 20 lbs in 10 weeks by eating 800 calories a day?

No! You should be eating 2000-2500 calories a day, for a healthy adult. You need to excersise a lot more, and you need to stop eating junk food. No fast food. When you go out to dinner, eat salad, don't get soda, get water. If you are getting dessert, politely refuse, unless it's on a weekend, and then you need to WATCH what you eat. Keep on reading and you'll see what I mean. :) Rather than soda or fruit juice, drink water. Instead of chips, eat carrots, or those delicious, yet healthy veggie chips. Eat peanuts, crack them out of the shell, don't buy the salted ones. Eat 5 small meals, rather than 3 big ones. LIGHT breakfast, SMALL snack, LIGHT lunch, SMALL snack, and a 3/4 of what you usually eat as dinner. That will definitely help you better than what you plan to do. A lot can happen when you eat healthy and excersise. :D More grain and fruits and veggies, less fats and sweets. Starving yourself isn't the answer. :) Just remember that. :D

Oh yeah, before I forget. Take small steps in your exersises. Rather than 200 crunches all at once, star at 50-60, and gradually increase by 10 crunches every day. Allow yourself 1 small dessert each weekend, such as 1 normal hershey bar, spread out all over the weekend, or all in 1 night. It's your choice, but I'd reccomend half on Saturday and half on Sunday. But still excersise those 2 days. On the days you eat dessert it'll give you an extra boost of energy, so 5 minutes after your dessert (which should be LIGHT), try excersising. If you do crunches, rather than going up 10 each day, go up 20 on the days you eat dessert, and resume going up 10 each day after the amount of crunches you did on Sunday. Bear in mind, you don't have to do crunches. It's just an example. You can run, do pushups, but start each day with stretching thoroughly. Then do a bit of walking. Then do your main excersise, then warm down with more walking. You'll be surprised with what you can accomplish! :D Good luck! ;)

When you excersise, only do what's comfortable. Don't go to the point of pain. Being tired and sweating is good. It means you're doing it right. DO NOT confuse the two. Stop immediatly when you feel pain, but do try to follow the 10-more-crunches-or-whatever-excersise-y... thing. It'll help a great deal. GOOD LUCK AGAIN!! :D I hope you reach your goal! :)

Ya that sounds right but not very healthy... you shoudl eat atleased 1200 calories a day at leased! The exercise part is good but you should just cutt the junk out of your diet and eat lots of veggies and fruits and drink water instead of juice and you should get those results...

I lost about 20lbs. in 2 weeks by joining wrestling. I'm in the best shape of my life right now. All you have to do is watch what you eat and work out hard with no junk food or fast food.

technically yes... but our bodies r not machines every1 is different....... if u eat 2 little u wont lose weight incorporate excercise walk run .... if u slightly decrease ur food intake and eat healthy and if u start excercising everyday u will lose 2 lbs no problem......dont worry too much about calories just watch what u eat and think is it healthy or just junk... drink more water and eat fruits and veggies..dont count their calories they actually help with weight loss and dont eat in the evening....... im doing this and i lost 6 lbs over 4 weeks
