Try SparkPeople.com. I have lost 25 with it, and I LOVE it! They have meal plans, nutrition/exercise planner, workouts, and forums/teams for getting support from others trying to get healthier, just like you! It is 100% free, and it is a lifesaver!

reduced calorie whole wheat bread

Buy weight watchers cookbooks email me your weight and I'll tell you how many points you are allowed to have each day to lose weight if you like.

I would go and get this book called the GI Diet by Rick Gallop, follow that diet and those recipes. Then try walking everyday for at least half an hour. I gained 80 pounds when pregnant and lost it all after doing this. If you still can't lose weight go and get your thyroid checked out.

I'll be checking this post to see what others say as well. After my first 3 babies the weight came off gradually but completely. After my fourth child 3 years ago, I can't lose a pound. I haven't gained any weight, I just cant lose any. I already exercise, I eat balanced low fat meals. In your case the medication may have be the biggest reason for your lack of weight loss.

I had ONE of those shots and will NEVER do it again. I feel for you. I hate to say this but you'll need to exercise too. Even if you did lose weight, your skin would hang on you and look a little odd. Fat cells NEVER disappear, they just shrink. Plus, exercise has been medically proven to enhance mood. Get to a gym and start slowly. As far as recipes....it's simple: lean meats (turkey, chicken, fish, buffalo, venison), veggies, whole grains, WATER. Avoid sodium, processed meats, "breaded" foods, creamy sauces...

Once you start eating better you'll feel better. Treat your body the way it deserves! Join a gym!!! You'll be amazed at what this can do for your confidence!

Aw so sorry sweetie. It's one of the bad points of being pregnant! T

The good news is this: You can lose that weight! First, start to eat healthy. Eat as low a carb diet as possible. That means skip as much bread, potato and pasta as you can. Substitute meat, veggies & fruit. Do not drink soda unless it's diet and no fruit juice. For meals pile up the lettuce and stick to a dressing like italian or ranch or good old O&V.

Eat very small portions of sweets if you MUST - just to satisfy.

Exercise? Take baby for a walk every day in her stroller. Start slow.....10 minutes......20 minutes next week. work up to at least an hour every day.

Important tip: If you mess up diet or exercise one day-don't worry too much just make sure you jump right back in the next day.

Also, weigh yourself every single day. It's hard at first, but once you start losing weight you will want to keep track....even if you go backward once or twice.

Best of luck and blessings to you and your new daughter!

First of all, don't beat yourself up over it. Having a baby can wreak havoc on some women's bodies.
Breastfeeding alone can burn about 500 calories a day. Also, breastfeeding means that you have to maintain a healthy lifestyle, thus aiding weight loss further. Many breastfeeding moms (myself included) are back into their pre - pregnancy clothes immediately or almost immediately because of it. It's too late for that, though. But again, don't beat yourself up over it. No worries; just something to keep in mind. Having a little one to depend on you for nutrition is certainly a motivator!
You said that she eats well, but you don't. She's entering the stage where she's going to become very defiant. If she sees Mom snacking on junk food, she'll want to as well. Set a good example for her. Sit down with her at meals, and eat what she eats. Make sure you are getting healthy, balanced meals; don't cut out essential food groups. Put your daughter in the stroller and go for a walk every day. Don't use the winter weather as an excuse - if it's too cold, walk at the mall! It sounds crazy, but many people here do it.
If you can, see if there's an Itsy Bitsy Yoga class in your area. It's a fun bonding experience for Mom and Baby, a good socialization opportunity for you both, and you can lose weight. There's also a baby stroller boot camp program that you may enjoy.
Remember that you didn't put on the weight overnight, so it won't come off overnight. If you take it off quickly, it will come back on quickly. If you make healthy changes to your lifestyle and aim for losing about 2 lbs per week, it will come off and stay off. Don't worry - if you if that way, you'll lose it in plenty of time for bathing suit season. Good luck!
