I'm on a diet, I eat six meals a day each containing a source of protein, ca!

Question: If I have the same source of protein (tuna) in each of my meals is this the same as having different proteins in each of my meals like chicken, eggwhites, salmon etc.

like today all I had to eat in my kitchen that was a protein was tuna so I ate tuna throught all my meals. is this fine? is a protein a protein does it matter what food it's coming from?

Tuna is a good protein source, but I'd mix it up a little. Salmon, egg beaters, Skim milk (check the protein in that, it will surprise you.) Fat free cottage cheese (a cup contains 28gms) mix it with a cup of your favorite fruit. You'll get lots of protein and natural sugars. Yes, protein is protein, but there are a lot of choices out there to choose from. The source you get it from is also important. Getting it, say, from cottage cheese is really better for you're body then getting it from stake, mainly because of the colorestol in the stake. The protein source from North Atlantic salmon also is rich in Omega 3's, whereas tuna contains very little.
Americal Bodybuilding has an outstanding protein drink that has many BCAA, vitimans, good taste and 52gms of protein in one 15oz can. It can almost be used as a meal in itself.
Hope that's helped some.
Keep up the diet and do include a good routine with it.

i would mix up the source of protein otherwise you will get bored eating the same thing,

Tuna is the best source of protein you can eat when you diet. I live on that stuff when I'm dieting. It's high in protein, very low in fat, and has no carbs. And it tastes so bad you can't eat a lot of it. I have eaten only tuna and only drank water for 4 days straight. The fat just melted away.

Some sources of protein are better for you than others.

People who are on a diet should eat LEAN protein, so tuna is fine. So is chicken, shrimp and turkey.

Beef, however, is fatty, but it does have protein.

I believe there are 21 different types of amino acids that you need for your diet, and something like 7 that your body cannot create.

You need to diversify your protein sorces (egg yolks, that's yolks and not whites, are actually complete or near complete protein).

A protein is made up with aminio acids, which you need.

My numbers may be off, but the bottom line is, you need to diversify your protein sources to get ALL of the amino acids.

Are you eating six meals or six feedings? Tuna is a protein so how much of it that you eat daily doesn't matter, but it may get boring. Eat chicken & turkey as alternatives when you can. Butterball makes a three pound turkey (white meat) that is to be baked in the oven, cooled, then sliced. It tastes so good & is a real nice change.
