Is fruit supposed to make you hungrier?!

Question: I had a fruit bowl a few hours ago. It had grapes, honeydew, cantaloupe, and pineapple. Then I got really hungry, so I made this turkey thing which was family pack, and I ate it all, but I was still really hungry, so I ate a small hot pocket. I still feel wicked hungry. Is this because of the fruit?

Also, I don't think I have worms or anything, so don't say that. I only feel like this tonight.

No, fruit is not especially filling (protein is what makes you feel "full"), but in no way does it make you hungrier. With the amount you've eaten, I would wager that your hunger isn't actually hunger. It's one of two other things:

1. You're misplacing some emotion, and responding to it as hunger.

2. (Most likely) You are actually THIRSTY. The common American can actually not tell the difference between thirst and hunger. I'm guilty - right now I keep thinking about food, and about how hungry I am, but I've started paying attention, and can sometimes tell the difference now, and I realize my hunger is actually THIRST. Try drinking 16 ounces of water, then perhaps sipping on some more throughout the night (most liquids other than water don't satisfy your thirst, in fact some can make you feel more thirsty, so stick to water). I'd bet money you're feelings of "hunger" will dissipate.

Good luck!

First, eating fruit does not make you hungry. So why do you eat more? Well, maybe you have not eaten a balanced diet for the last few days (or months) and your body is calling for protein, or some other nutrient. Make sure your daily eating habits meet all your nutritional requirements.

The other problem could be you are just sitting around and bored after you eat. Many times eating just becomes a bad habit - you eat when you are bored, or sad, or whatever. I suggest you keep your gym clothes nearby and go out for a jog when you feel hungry. That's a great way to take your mind off food, and burns calories at the same time.
