You only have 10 pounds to lose so it should be easy. A slight change in eating habits. Not a diet. Watch portion sizes, no seconds and take a little less than you think you want. If you think you want a snack drink some water and wait 10 minutes. If you really are hungry eat fresh fruit or raw veggies. Put peanut butter on the veggies if you don't like them plain. A lot of times we mistake thirst for hunger.

A slight change in exercise. Walk your dog a block further than you have been, take him on two short walks a day instead of one. you will have the 10 pounds off by Prom time.

You have to diet. If you don't you aren't going to lose weight. I suggest a low carb diet, eat mostly protein 6 times a day, and eat small portions. Stay away from junk food and sweets. Drink only water. Good luck.

Well, you can't really lose weight unless you change your diet and get more exercise..

You just have to be devoted and motivated!!
Everytime you feel you should cheat on your diet, think of all the good things that will come when you lose your 10 pounds.
Reward yourself!
Pick a day to eat one of your favorite junk foods or buy yourself something nice!

Change your eating habits by eating foods that are not processed, or have refine sugars, drink plenty of water instead of pop. If you make this change along with exercise you will loose the weight.

Set a goal of three pounds a month. That way, you don't have to give up your favorite foods. You are going to have to walk much more.

go for a 30-45min walk every day and youll burn at lest 30-40 callories and eat low calorie foods. walk, run, play with your dog, swim, all sorts of thing work just go for the ones you like and dont over work your self eat raw vegetables it will eat the fat and youll feel better

diets aren't actually a good way to go because saying your going on a diet means you have to come off of it sooner or later... make substitutions like fruit for fries and a veggie burger for a hamburger (the health benefits are worth it too, reducing fat and hydrogenated oils that can clog arteries) and make a commitment to work out at least 45 mins a day 5 times a week. whether playing tennis, walking, jogging, swimming, etc. when you take your dog for a walk, walk briskly, not leisurely. grabbing some 5 lb. dumbbells can also be beneficial. drink green tea in the morning; it will boost your metabolism and sip water throughout the day... eat a big breakfast, medium sized lunch and small dinner with healthy snacks throughout the day like a piece of friut, some nuts, a handful of pretzals... replace soda with water and ice cream with yogurt. the key is balance... thing of your goal and start a healthy lifestyle that will stay with you... good luck!!

DIETS DO NOT WORK!!! Well, at least not long term. Lifestyle changes will give you weight loss and better health for the long haul. In order to lose weight, you have to burn more calories than you take in. That's it. If you want to lose 10 pounds for a certain event (or something like that) and don't care if you gain 15 back, then by all means, do a dramatic crash diet. If you want to decrease you weight by a certain amount, then change something in your lifestyle. It doesn't have to be anything dramatic either. The slower (to a point) that you lose weight, the more likely it is to stay off. A good rule of thumb is no more than 2-3 pounds per week. If you lose more, it sends your body into a defensive or starvation mode and it becomes couner-productive. It sounds so ordinary and simple, but make sure you are drinking plenty of good old water. It really can make a difference. Past that, I would suggest first evaluating your eating habits. Is there a soda or sweet treat that you could cut out? Maybe a fast-food meal you could replace with a homemade meal? Also, make sure you are eating regularly, even if you can just squeeze in a healthy snack. You should really only have one big meal a day and the others should be small meals or snacks. This keeps your blood sugar more even and avoids those big dips that cause your body to hold on to everything it can the next meal. Don't do anything super huge! Check your portion size. If you are eating too much, just cut back a little. Leave a bite or two on your plate. I know, wasting food, but really, on our plate or your hips? Small steps. If you make big, uncomfortable changes without a rock-solid resolve, you risk the chance of breaking and then going overboard with what you are trying to cut out. Secondly, increasing physical activity doesn't automatically mean going to a gym. I hate them too. Well, don't hate them, just bored, don't have time, etc. Anyway, try things like parking farther away from the store or down the block from your job (if that's safe for you). Jump rope is something you can do anywhere and you could stick a rope in a bag or pocket. Just do five minutes, or two minutes. ANYTHING that will require extra physical activity will burn calories. SMALL changes. Then, when you are used to the changes you have made, make another small change. Before you know, those small changes are a part of your lifestyle and you really don't notice those extra few minutes you spend all day long. Except when you have to go shopping for smaller clothes. If you can take 30 minutes three times a week for a brisk walk or a bike ride or whatever you enjoy, that's great! And if you don't see immediate results, don't get discouraged. Small changes come slower but they last longer. I would suggest not even weighing yourself. You will be able to tell by the way your clothes fit. AND, other people will probably notice before you do and will dish out those compliments. Don't stress about it. If you make changes, even small ones, and stick with it, it will happen. Good luck!!!
