Question: i'm quite short for the average 15 year old. i'm only 5''. i weigh 105 lbs, and i have really muscular calves, like i am so self conscious when i go out in public (i don't really show that i am). some 'friends' always rag on me about having bigger calves then them, some say they would kill for my legs. and like my 'BESTFRIEND' says i have gigantic calves, wow thanks for making me feel great...
she's not muscular whatsoever..off subject, anyways..
what can i do to reduce them in some size? besides surgery and stuff like that, and pleassssse do not tell me i just have to live with it. :) thankssss.

I know you're fifteen, which means you don't want to hear this: but there's nothing wrong with having muscular calves. Having large calves because of excessive weight is one thing - having muscular calves is something to be PROUD of. It means you're more athletic, and more than likely healthier than the rest of your friends! You have good muscle tone!

I'm not telling you to live with it (after all, you asked us not to) - I'm telling you to be proud of it! You should NEVER be ashamed of something that is actually healthy.

Tell your best friend that if she was really a friend she wouldn't be making depreciating comments about any part of your body, much less something that doesn't even have anything wrong with it. Or you'll have to start hunting for some of her "flaws" to comment on. The ones who say they'd kill for your legs probably mean it. There are lots of guys out there who find a curvier woman more attractive, and prefer a toned looking leg, as opposed to a pencil-thin one.

You sound like you look wonderful for your age and weight - be proud of it, and don't let others dictate what you think looks right. If you're healthy, you're perfect.

Well just think u don't have 2 live with it 4 eva.Sometimes ur friends can get jealous even if they have nice legs.Maybe losing weight wuld help but im not sure u could c and u if u do decide 2 lose weight plz tell me how it goes.Ok hope dat helped BYe.

reduces muscles in the calves is not easy and considering you are 14 i would wait and see how your body develops because once you grow more you will find your body falls into proportion.

Things like slow walks and incumbent cycling can help but as i said its hard to say as you still have a good 5-6yrs of body development to go

Bigger calves make look legs more balance. How the rest of your body proportion.Calves are kind of genetic predisposition. Help build upper leg for balance or do not stand or walk so much You will loose muscle tone/calves smaller/ Your friends will see You less so they will make less stupid comments about Your look.

Hey u got to be proud having such gigantic calves...a persons fitness can be determined by ones muscular calves...but tell u what live with it for some time because when u grow up its obvious ur height will grow so will ur weight that time it will be in proper proportion...and if u really want to loose it just loose a couple of pounds....

uhhh.. i have this problem too!!! Check out this.. i hope it helps!

Hey,
I'm fifteen too and I also got muscular calves since I work out regulary at the gym. Be proud, its nothing to be ashamed of. What would you rather; fat or muscle? Obviously muscle, some of your friends are just jealous. Don't worry about, you're still growing. If you really want to decrease the size of the muscle in your calves try joining a gym and do non-stop (high rep & low resistance) weight machines for your calves at your local gym everyday since it will wear out and shrink the muscle. Also consume lesser protein.
Goodluck. :)
