Question: I have been eating about 1400 - 1300 and sometimes 1600 calories a day.
My mom told me i'm not eating enough, but I'm not going to eat more than 1600 calories if I don't exercise much. (I really can't much except going to the store and/or walking about 10-15 minutes a few days a week. )
I'm 17 btw.
Am I eating okay? :/

You are eating fine. Your mother is just worried about you. Just watch your weight and if you lose anything up ur calories. But for your height your average weight. Hope i helped.

What kind of foods are you eating?

She probably has reason to worry if you had "problems" before. They can sometimes linger about.
Maybe if you wrote down what you ate and showed her, the she might be okay with that.

You didn't tell me how tall you were for your age. It also depends on what type of foods you are eating. You could be eating 1600 calories but if half of those calories is coming from junk food then that's not good. Maybe that is what your mother is referring to. If your not getting enough exercise then I would be careful consuming 1600 calories. Besides at your age why are you counting calories anyway? Let go of the number counting and instead eat healthy food like fresh fruits and vegetables. Plenty of water vs. soda and juice.

It's important to eat enough food during your growing years. The Canada Food Guide is the best resource to make sure you are eating enough.
Someone in your age group (14 - 18 yrs ) is supposed to consume 7 servings of fruits and veg's. 6 grains. 3-4 milk and alternatives. 2 meat and alternatives. Make sure you know what portion sizes are and that should help you know if you are eating enough.
Just an aside....try to get active, it will make you feel better. The consequences of a sedentary lifestyle can be scary!

uhmmm.. i eat like.. 800 calories a day.. yerr kinda eating alot. but sounds like your weight and height is healthy so i would just keep doing what your doing.. i guess your supposed to eat between 1000-1500 calories a day anyways.. so sounds healthy to meh
