To crunch or not to crunch?!

Question: are crunches really good for ya? do they do anything for your body or are they a waste?

crunches work for those with already developed abs and are basically maintenance. For the less than frequent exerciser, they can be damaging to the neck and lower back. To get to the point where you have a six-pack to work with, requires long commitment-- there's no easy or quick ab-whatever system. Having seen pix of you, I would hope that you worry less about weight and more about living well-- the weight loss just comes with the active life.

ive recently started doign that 8 minute abs thing and its basically a lot of crunes iand see a change already

Their good for going from a flat stomach:

But if you have fat over it, it will be good but wont be noticeable, it will make the abs harder though:

THis Guy above me said it perfect

Yeah, but do them so you don't put to much pressure on your neck.

all they do is strengthen the abdominal muscles. If you do a lot of them, more than 20, you develop endurance in your abdominals. Its not a large muscle group, so you don't burn a lot of calories doing them. If you have body fat covering your midsection, you won't see your results. Are they a waste of time, it depends, if you have body fat to loose, better spend the time walking fast.
