Is my diet okay for me?!


Question: I'm 12, almost 13 and all of my friends are bugging me saying I shouldn't diet. I know I shouldn't diet but I don't really. Lately I have been drinking vitamin waters, fuze juice drinks, and water. I have been eating lots of fruits and grilled chicken instead of fried. I still eat w/e I want to. I don't consider this a diet, I think it's just a choice to eat healthier. What do you think? Is this good for me? Thanks for the help!

Eating healthy is great and if you are just looking for health that's fine.

If you're trying to lose weight fruit is not so good as its sugars can near-instantly get stored as fat in surplus but I mention that for other people, not you.

At your age you're still growing so fruit and pretty much all foods are essential. Low portions are fine but ensure you're getting a wide variety.

You're doing a good thing by knowing how to eat healthy because it will affect your body in aspects such as growth and appearance. The more rejuvenated you feel you will also be able to have more energy. Don't let your friends pull you down because their eating habits are most likely not as good as yours! Just because you're almost 13 doesn't mean you have to be eating what everyone else is eating - you can always have something healthier! Continue to do well in your eating habits, not everyone has self control like you do!

You are just eating healthy and replacing fried foods is an excellant thing to do!! keep it up!!
