How do I stop excessive eating/binging?!

Question: I have tried so hard not to binge but whenever I eat no matter if I am happy or sad, hungry or not, I just end up overeating so much... I really want to stop but it's like a compulsion.. I don't want to go to a psychologist or get on medicines or anything, I'm regular weight and a 16 year old girl... I have gained like 10 pounds in the last 3 months and I really just want to stop! I was trying to lose weight but this is getting in the way... How can I stop? Any Advice?

Be careful and address your problem now. food can be an addiction. I was your age w/ the same problem, now I'm 36 and it has magnified to where I cannot control my binging. I joined overeaters anonymous yesterday and feel so blessed that I have finally found support and I would encourage the same. Look in the internet for the nearest meetings. Good luck.

full length mirror by the frig.
It sounds crazy but the place I went to work for about two years ago had mirrors everywhere. I lost 27 lbs.

chew gum that what i do you just have to contril yourself think about your actions

u have to be commited! i was the same as you- until you're ready to give it your whole self it won't happen. start doing exercise, and be fully comited and focused to this goal to be a happier and healthier you. but remember the # 1 factor is COMMITMENT!
Good Luck!

I don't suggest you stop eating. You should go see your doctor, and tell him/her what going on. Exercise daily, and drink plenty of water. That's what I do it keeps me in shape. My weight stays pretty much the same . Keep in shape and exercise that's my advice hun! Hope I helped you out! Take care and stay healthy!! =)

http://www.clearhealthandfitness.com/hea... how badly do you want to stop? There is something emotional that you probably need to deal with to really succeed.

Try eating healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables and lean meats. Ration your calories out into about 6 small meals a day. An exercise at least 4 times a week. This should suppress your appetitie

Unfortunately, you are going to have to get help. There is something psychological that is making you use food to fill a void in your life. It doesn't mean you're crazy, it just means you need different coping skills. Only a doctor can help you. Start with a regular doctor and tell him/her what's going on. You can also get free help by going on your state or community mental health resource web pages and emailing someone about your problem so that they can refer you to someone.

In the meantime I suggest exercise. Exercise raises endorphin levels in your body and that can help with your self esteem and mood issues. Good luck and if you binge, try to binge on healthy things..a bag of carrots, baked chips, rice cakes, popcorn, fruit, foods that you can eat a lot of without causing to much harm to your body.
