Do you have to be skinny to have 6 pack?!


Question: im currently a bit overweight like with a little belly, i was wandering whether i would need to slim down in order to have a six pack or whether i could just start doing the exercises and get immediate results.

To get a six pack, your body fat would need to be below 10% for a male and below 15% for a female.

The key to a six pack is diet diet diet, then exercise! Here:

You need to eat 5-6 small meals a day. Eat some protein with each meal! Cut out all refined sugar!!! Also add more fiber. The fiber and protein will fill you up, helping you to cut down on your unhealthy eating. Also by eating more than 3 meals spread out through the day you will kick your metabolism in high gear. Here is a general meal for a day:

Breakfast: 2 poached eggs
whole wheat toast
1/2 cup fruit

Snack: Cottage Cheese with veggie

Lunch: Turkey, lettuce, tomato, whole wheat bread sandwich
1/2 cup fruit

Snack: Protein Shake

Dinner: Turkey Burger ( no bun )
Side of brown rice
Side of Broc.




Then exercise regularly 4-5 days a week. Do both cardio and lifting. But on days that you do both. Do lifting before your cardio and you will maximize your fat burn. Cardio can be a sport: basketball, soccer, football, anything with losts of movement. Golf is a no no.

So Example :

Monday - 30 mins lifting then 1 hr cardio
Tuesday - 1 hour lifting
Wednesday - Rest
Thrusday - 30 mins lifting then 1 hr cardio
Friday - 1 hour lifting
Saturday - Rest
Sunday - 30 mins lifting then 1 hr cardio

My husband said he gave up on the 6 pack a long time ago and decided to settle on the keg. My son did crunches a lot of crunches for at least 2 months, probably more like 3 and he got him a little six pack, it is hard work to build those muscles.

yes in order to see the 6 pack the body fat must be between 10 & 12 %, all good gyms have a machine called body fat analyser that will tell u the amount of fat in ur body so u can work on it

no not at all I've seen many overweight people with 6 packs

not skinny, but f you have too much fat you will make it hard for yourself

2 have a six pack u don't have 2 super skinny u just have 2 b healthy and toned.And have alow body fat %.

No. Not necessary, slightly overweight is not a problem but just need to exercise more to burn off excess fats in your body. But for a obese preson, then he/she will definitely need to slim down down 1st.

No, but you do have to have very low body fat.

A guy can have a BMI of 30+ but if he's got under 10% body fat, he'll still be ripped.
