Dad making comments on weight?!

Question: it's really annoying. i'll be eating a carrot and he'll say "why are you eating so much" and then i tell him not to worry about me, i'm a senior in highschool, and then he says "well, i pay for the food"
then he asks "have u gained weight?" and i say that i have, but don't feel comfortable discussing it. and he pushes forward with his questioning. gosh!
i'm 5'7" earlier this yr i was 138 and had muscle. now i'm 147. i don't know how the pounds got packed on...

People who judge will judge no matter what. So don't listen to any of it, just be healthy.
I used to be overweight, and when i finally got down to a normal weight and was cutting holes in my belt so it would fit (screw buying a new belt) my father said, "Why are you doing that? [Your weight]'s not going to last...," lol, so no matter what parents will find a way to criticize

ignore him

Dad needs to hear about anorexia. Many girls who are nagged by their parents or are teased become anorexic.

well ur dad shouldnt be making comments on ur weight like that but 147 isnt an unhealthy weight for u so if ur comfortable then i would say ur fine

I would ignore him. You have a normal weight for your height.

That's mean.

Hey, it's harde. I know. My step-dad does the same thing. I've been dropping pants sizes, and got some new jeans, well, my step father thought it was funny to make comments about how many jeans I had bought in 2 months time, telling me that if I kept going on like that I'd be the size of a house. my mother stepped in and told him I was losing the weight, but it still hasn't helped. Now he's always on me saying I'm gunna need my "fat pants" again if I eat.

but, just ignore him. It's what I do, and yeah, he gets mad, because he "demands I respect him"but he's not really worth the respect, now, is he

He sounds like a cheapskate. Apparently he cares more about the money he spends on food than anything else.
I don't think he cares that you are putting on weight, as much as he's worried about shelling out money for groceries.
If he didn't want to feed his kids, maybe he shouldn't have had them.
My dad was the same way. I was afraid to eat anything because i didnt' want to get yelled at for having the "nerve" to eat something
