Training - Workout?!


Question: I'm 13 and I'm trying to get stronger for the baseball season coming up..... anyone got some ideas? Also, a good schedule would be good.....

Weightlifting is good as long as you work important parts such as your arms. Bench, curls, upright rows, shrugs, dips, pull ups, and any other arm exercises are all good. Make sure you work your legs and the rest of your body. Sprints, stairs, and other agility and quickness exercises are very helpful. Make sure you have a healthy diet and don't pig out on junk food. Always eat breakfast because its important to start your body's metabolism. Eat within 30-45 minutes after you exercise because that is when your body is going to work on repairing itself the most and getting you stronger. Protein is good for your muscles as well as plenty of water. I don't recommend creatine even though a lot of people use it to make themselves look bigger. Also ask your coach because I'm sure he/ she cold have a lot of insight and helpful tips. What Erika W says about eating oatmeal or nothing is not a good idea because your body needs nutrients especially if your exercising, just don't eat tons of junk food or stuff like that.

There are better places to get a workout specifically for baseball. Ask your coach or someone on what exercises you should do. Each sport has certain exercises that help to perform better in it.

maybe in the morning exercise then eat oatmeal or nothing try not to lay on the couch and watch tv like a lazy bum go joging with friends or family maybe even join weight watchers you could also join a gym
