Actually, if you it healthy the other 6 days a week and dont set your calorie intake too low (this can change your body to switch into starvation mode, lowering your metabolism), then the occasional burger and fry feast will not only not hurt you, but it can actually increase weight loss.

The body reacts to what you make it do and what you put into it in a very specific way. If you lower your calorie intake too low, your body will get 'scared' and worry about where its next meal will come from, and try to save every calorie you give it. Thats why people tell you not to skip a meal ever if possible.

To lose weight you have to burn more calories than you take in. The best way to do this is by adding exercise and making very minimal diet changes. The changes should be to eat healthier to make sure you are getting proper nutrition. You can do this pretty easily without feeling like you are dieting. Rather than 'banning' foods, you should add foods to take up room that would normally be reserved for unhealthy things. Add more fruits and veggies plus walks and jogs, and you will shed pounds pretty quick.

If you are choosing to cut calories for your day, having a high calorie day every now and then can keep your metabolism from getting scared. So, while you certainly should not be eating McDonalds or whatever your little poison is every day, once a week or once every other week is pretty fine. It makes it much more likely your body will accept change, and it makes it more emotionally easy on you. If you know you can have McDonalds once a week or whatever time you give yourself, it makes it that much less likely you will crash your diet and give in to temptation. It will be better for your over all and make it easier to maintain your changes. I totally advocate for having once a week diet free days. Now, dont go crazy and eat everything in the fridge on that day, but certainly dont punish yourself for french fries.
;D

Good luck!

McDonald's is disgusting.

It is quite ok to splurge every now and then. Helps to keep you from going back to eating unhealthy because typically, you will eat unhealthy that one day, and feel so sick afterwards you dont want to eat unhealthy again for a while.

Of course, it won't. You have to treat your body, sometimes. One burger isn't going to make you put on a stone. Just make sure you balance it out and drink loads of water and do some healthy excercise, after you have eaten. The worst thing you can do, is be tempted to buy something and think, "Oh, I can't buy that.. I'm on a diet." It is silly. Just make sure to work out your calorie intake and you will be fine! :)

Yes you can but your should be extremely careful with it.
Furthermore you have to workout properly in the gym on basic routine.
If you can please avoid from any eating in McDonald's if you wish to really lose weight.

wow, 1once a week? thats a bit much, maybe one every 2 weeks would be more suggested. also do crunches while u watch tv it helps like crazy/

make a turkey burger at home. Why you need the exta 1,000 calories for?

Of course you can! 'Occasionally' being the key word here. As long as 70% of the food you are eating is healthy, than you can get away with the other 30% of eating whatever the hell you want. And good for you for losing weight! Keep it up!

Sure. Contrary to popular, household belief, it's not what you eat, it's how much you eat.

You will get fatter eating 3 pounds of salad than you would eating 2 pounds of hamburger. It's that simple.

Once a week should be ok as long as you exercise and eat well for other meals.

McDonalds for once every month or year. Exercise, vegetables, water, fish are better.

It's okay to McD's once or twice per week. It's eating there every day that is not good.
Caloric intake, is to be the amount you would need if not wanting to lose weight. What you would need to maintain your "ideal" weight.
For a female, 5' tall, 100 lbs. min. For every inch over 5', times that inch by 5. For instance, 5'6"+130 lbs, minimum. Consider bone structure-small, med, or large will add a few more pounds to the "ideal" weight.
A woman should not take in less than 1,200 cal. per day. A man, not less than 1,500 cal. per day. Otherwise, it is like a starvation diet, and your metabolism will slow down, and the weight loss will take longer. On average, a person should not lose more than 1-2 (3 max) lbs per week.
Hope this helps you.
Also, eat healthy, proteins, carbs, veggies, fruits, drink water (8 - 8 oz. glasses per day) as well as juices, tea, etc. Things you like to drink. Soda pop should be limited-the calories are empty calories with pop.
Take care.

I allow myself once a week to eat whatever I want to eat. I just eat really healthy all week besides that one day. You are not going to gain back all your weight in one day. 3500 calories ='s one pounds. Even if you ate 5 fatty hamburgers you wouldn't gain a pounds. People who don't allow themselves to have any good food.. end up binging and start eating everything.. that's why diets don't work. You need to make it a life style. Eat healthy but let lose once a week. :)

The answer is yes. However, be sure to not eat the extremely caloric laden burgers. If you are consistent with your diet and exercise usually you can afford one cheat day, but you have to watch your portion. For example, just get the burger and skip the fries and soda.
