How long will it take me to loose 30-40 pounds?!


Question: i want to shed those winter lbs. If i run at least three times a week doing at least a mile each time, how long will it take me to lose a good 30-40 lbs? i already weigh 153...can any one help me?

You don't have to exactly say run all the time..if you do at least half an hour of some sort of cardio whether it be running, the elliptical, stair stepper, walking on the treadmill on an incline, you'll be doing some good for yourself . You should try to do that more like 5 times a week. Also if you start lifting weights..start off light, like 5-10 pounds..If you go to your local gym you can get a trainer or someone that works there to show you what muscle groups you should be working on and how many reps to do. Cardio and weight training are your best bets to getting the weight off because muscle weighs more than fat and burns more calories too. So you'll be burning fat and calories even when your not exercising!.
Along with the exercising you should try to watch what you eat..Stay away from junk food or fried foods...Lots of veggies, fruits, lean meats, and whole grains...Also drink lots of water!!...If you follow this you should be able to lose around 1-2 lbs a week..which is normal and healthy!!..Losing too much weight in one week isn't good for you body and you'll just generally gain that back. so good luck!!

BUT to answer your question I'd say 4-6months, depending on how hard you work out.
