Why can't i lose weight?!

Question: Why do I gain so much weight when I am doing everything possible not to?
I am 18 years old and weight like 260. I eat under 2000 calories a day, under 60 carbs a day, exercise, drink tons of water, and take vitamins. I have never had a twinky in my life, never eat candy, sugar drinks, or anything like that, i use splnda. I went to the doctor and my doctor said i weighed 235 last time i was in about 6 months ago. How could i have gained 25 pounds with the diet that i described. My doctor did blood tested for everything that could potentially cause weight gain, even a cortisol test, and everything came back completely normal, even thyroid.

What the hell is wrong with me?!!!

If anyone has any SERIOUS ideas, i would greatly appreciate it!

By the way, I am a high school senior and a very high achiever, so i try to exercise as much as i have time for, probably 20 minute 4 times a week. I don't have time to eat six frigin meals a day, I'm in class for half of the day. My schedule is craz

Glad you were cleared by the doctor... excellent move. If only 20 min. 4 days a week you need to wake up a bit earlier to include some cross training, proper strtching + warming up, etc... Cross training means mixing up your routines to stimulate your body... run 20 min. one day, bike hard another, skip rope for 10 min. which equals 20 min running (you will have to build up to 10 min.) find a 50 meter hill to run up about 8 times or more... read up on diffrent things, swim if possible... remember one key, its important to eat moderately and not to reduce your calories too much, your body will go into survival mode and store fat for energy... be sure to strecth a lot too. Lots of fruits, veggies, you drink water... its ok to indulge one day a week with a couple slices of pizza but thats all... cut way back on the bacon, red meats, etc... pasta is cool, read, read, read... up on reputable info...

you probably need more exercise

its probably your schedule , stress try to excercise more

yiggity yo i dont know!

it might have to do with stress, but remember you're young and you're still growing. you wont stay a consistent weight until your 20s. stay healthy and keep doing what you're doing. it might also be hereditary or something to do with your thyroid. maybe exercise a little more but sounds like you're on the right track. just remember you're still young and you're bound to have slight weight gains and losses.

Under 2000?!!! you should be eating 1500 calories dude.

OK dude take it easy man, I lost 40 lbs in one month, by exercising for an hour a day everyday, and starving myself lol... but you don't wanna starve yourself because it's not healthy :s

But exercise for an hour a day and everything will be good bro...

good luck!

Increase how much you exercise! I exercise about 4 times a week, about 30-40 minutes or more each time. Stress also leads to weigt gain. It sounds like you are eating relatively well. And you're sure there is no medical problem? That is kind of strange that you would gain weight. Hmm. Good luck , keep trying! You WILL get there!

you eat too much

it depends, have you been over wait/gaining wait all your live?

If youre under a lot of stress it can have a lot to do with your weight gain -- regaurdless of how much you eat or exercise... I know because Ive been there.. I had onlways been a small girl and gained over 60 pounds at one point in my life due to stress.. You have to find a way to help your body destress.. Heres a web site explaining how stress releases a certain hormone and causes weight gain.. I hope it helps you out :

You do need to make time for more exercise. Get up a little earlier to make time for it, if you don't have time between or after class. You don't even have to do it all at once - space it out, maybe do 15 minutes intervals of moderate intensity 3-4 times a day. That's actually better for you, as each time you get your heart rate up, your metabolism is raised a bit. Also figure out how many calories you're eating on a general daily basis, and start by subtracting 500 calories a day. You could do that or just go for the extreme and attempt a 1,300 calorie diet and keep adding 100 calories until you get to the highest amount you can eat and still lose weight. You don't have to have time to eat 6 meals a day. 3 is fine - breakfast lunch and dinner, and just brings snacks to class with you to munch on. Perhaps an apple or something. "Smart" snacking will keep the metabolism from slowing down.

I think the Splenda is messing you up. The articles below say that these kinds of artificial sweeteners (or any, for that matter) cause weight gain.

Try snacking on fruit instead and you should be fine.

It sad to hear your are going through all these, I cannot promise you that you will get back to your desired size overnight; however with hardwork and determination you will achieve it.

It sound alarming, you can only confirm it.
Best of luck

It sounds like your doctor has given up. If he did not have any answers for you then you need a new doctor. There are programs in which you can and will lose weight. I would suggest two things: 1. dieting program and a qualified trainer. I
