Big guy needs some tips on how to lose weight?!

Question: Ok, so I right now I'm sitting at about 6'3" and 360 lbs. I currently am semi-active, I play basketball and football with friends but have no real regimen in place. I also eat way more than I should and have recently cut back on it, but I was wondering if anyone knew some other diet tips or some kind of regimen that might be good as a guideline. Be it with diet / exercise and what not.

Try increasing your water intake, using portion control and increasing your movement such as taking the dog for a walk and going for a jog with a friend or at the gym.

Keep away from fried foods and take out, and a big secret is also to drop the soda and sugary drinks they help pack the pounds and have no real value to your diet.

You can eat 5-6 small meals a day which will keep your metabolism working like a furnace rather than eating 3 bulky meals and try snacking on fruit like apples and nuts for protein.

Most of all, don't lose sight of your goal to lose the weight to be healthier :) Best wishes

P.S.

Please don't starve yourself, not eating makes your body think its starving and will hold onto that fat like there's no tomorrow.

Don't go doing the diet pills and shakes etc, they're more like a boost or "band aid" and they don't really address the issue which is your lifestyle.

**chin up, you can do it, remember slow and steady weight loss tends to equal slow and steady weight gain, if you lose it quickly odds are you'll gain it all back, but if you do it the right way you tend to beat the odds and keep it off.

**Soda isn't the only sugary drink, juices can be a bit deceiving because you're getting a lot of the sugar without the fiber, try light juices and don't keep yourself from having everything just reduce the portions and increase your activity (that should help keep you away from cravings and rebounding back to old habits), steam broil and bake your foods whenever possible.

Well im 6'1 im 17 and i weigh 187 i did weigh 225 but i lost it after i started boxing now im in great shape

try boxing

you should eat slowly the faster you eat the more you eat.
if you drink soda then cut back as much as you can handle on that soda is horrible for you that some say it's better to eat another meal a day then drink 5 sodas because of all the caffeine and what not

Eating the wrong way sure has influence in how much weight you are going to lose. Sticking to a diet is recommended for weight loss. I would stick two diets though as your body gets used to your diets so you'll need to "surprise" your metabolism to trick it burn more fat. I find that shifting your calories works wonders into helping me burn more fat. Look into "Calorie Shifting."

Good luck to you!

swimming is the best way to burn fat. but im a skinny lil guy what do i know

As myself being a semi serious body builder, i have a few ways to strip pounds...
Your best be is to moderate your caloric intake to your best ability... also try to take in foods high in protein... Tuna, skinless chicken that kind of stuff.
Along with a more strict diet get on a cardio based exercise program. Youll want to do lots of reps with less weight...
and running/walking and cycling work well to keep your heart rate up nice also.
Also for your diet stick to small frequent meals to speed up your metabloic rate. Also before you eat drink a large glass of water to take up space. Its not easy to take it off but its do able... just takes lots of will power... and that you either have your you dont..... GOOD LUCK!

ok here's how to loose 6-7 kilos-grams (about 13 pounds) of your weight in 6 days.
You have to eat ONLY the things that I've mentioned below:
1st day: apples
2nd ":grapes
3rd":bread (any kinde of bread but sugar and fat free)
4:meat (any kinde of meat but fat free)
5:apples(again!)
6:grapes(and again!!!)
*if you eat these things in its wrong day, it will never work.
*you can only drink water.
*eating something else in these 6 days will ruin this diet.

honestly it really works! I've tried it 2 times...

Your diet should consist of fruits and vegetables. Fruits should be of a citrus kind like oranges. Good vegetables are carrots, celery and lettuce. These vegetables burn a lot of calories just trying to burn the fat off. Should take some fiber because it helps with colesterol. Trying have a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast for a few weeks and you'll see a big difference there. Drink water instead of sports drinks, soda, or anything with sugar in it. Right now I am on a high protien, low calorie diet and the weight is falling off. The protien will help you mantain your muscle while you burn fat. Also if you are going to start working out take it slow at first. Walk on a treadmill for about 2 weeks for 30 minutes every other day. Then start a slow jog for 10 minutes every other day for 2 weeks. Then you should be able to pick it up from there. When lifting weights you should try more reps at a time. Doing 20 reps for 3 sets for a couple months will help you tone up really fast. Good luck

1. stop taking fat and meat, it includes oil, butter, chicken, beef, pork etc.

2. walk for 2 km every day, slowly increase it to 5, include some jogging in this.

3. use the stairs where ever you can instead of elevator. when you have the option stand instead of sitting, all these burn a lot of calories.

4. cycling continuously burns 600 calories in 30 minutes, so increase all your physical activity.

5. when ever you feel hungry, take some salad and other food items which are low in fat and calories like brown bread.

6. drink Lot's of water.

7. chew your food properly, it reduces appetite.

8. eat lots of breakfast, lunch slightly less, your dinner should be least of the three.

9. do a total workout in a gym involving all your muscles, but remember to do warm up before starting and stretching after you complete.

10. check your weight only once and week, losing weight is a very slow process and takes lot of patience.

Eat less meat, or even consider becoming vegetarian. In general Americans (don't know if you're one) eat far too much protein, so you can do without it. Also, it will be better for the environment, because animal farming leads to more methanol in the air, which is a very potent greenhouse gas.

Sorry my man is 6'5 and very muscular so I couldnt tell you.

Start a diet - any diet you find and like, as many of them are really working. I can suggest you Winter diet .
Exercise - it can be just walk (5 km per day at the beginning), run, dance, swim
If you would like to continue - change the diet after two weeks - start new one, continuing exercising. The secret is the body not to get used with the particular diet
Do not give up if you do not lose weight as fast as you want. The body needs time to react.

Good luck!

Drink a big glass of water as soon as you wake up. Then drink a big glass of water before every meal so you feel more full.

A lot of times it's the act of chewing people are hooked on. When you have the urge to snack, try chewing some sugarless gum first.

Get a pedometer and get more walking in. Walk 10,000 steps per day.

Even when you are sitting your chunky self at your computer, have some hand weights nearby (at least 30 pounds) that you can crank out reps of 20 with now and then. Adding more muscle will help you lose weight.

Keep a log and write down everything that you eat. If you want to lose weight at your size keep it down to 2000 calories or less for a while. Do NOT think of this as a diet. It is a LIFESTYLE CHANGE.

TRUST ME! Follow my advice and I promise you that you will be much less of a fat blimp!

BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!

Start off your day with a BIG breakfast, so you dont feel too hungry later in the day. Eat fruit for snacks and rememeber to drink plenty of water. Go for a walk everyday. And dont get tempted to eat fast food.
