Exercising More but Gaining Weight?!

Question: I've been exercising at the gym for the last 6 months (about 2-3 times a week) and I'm gaining weight. I know muscle weighs more than fat but I'm getting annoyed, i haven't lost or gained inches. Im 5'4'' and have gone from 8st 7lb to 9st 1lb. I know this is in the "normal" weight for my height but I just dont feel comfortable getting heavier and heavier! What can I do? :)

Do loads of running-its the best thing. Don't do weight training as it will bulk you out more-resulting in few or no lost inches as well as no weight loss. Do more cardio things like aerobics classes and running. And ditch any junk food now!!

Hey one thing to keep in mind is muscle weighs much more than fat so an increase in weight at first is perfectly normal. Once you start burning more fat, it will balance out but you will see the benefits. One thing I would suggest is drink LOTS of water!! Report It

U need to do more cardio and less strength training. Like dont get on any weight machines...stick to treadmills

your probly more toned than u wer flabby

Get them to check the amount of body fat you have, 18 to 23 is the normal, and then deffo cardio as opposed to weight lifting to shift more

Try cutting out out bread, biscuits, pasta, potatoes, cereal, grains, rice etc. Eat lots of fresh fruit and veg (raw or cooked) and lean meats, eggs, milk, lite cheese and continue with your exercise. I am on a high protein diet and the weight just drops off you if you keep to it. Its great you can have bacon and eggs for breakfast or sausages. Eat Cashew nuts or other type of nuts for snacks. Sounds pretty good hay. Oh and always drink heaps of water.

    Give it a try.

If not happy ask them at the gym to check you out or maybe go to the doctors' just to be on the safe side.
    Wish I were only 9st 11b

I would check this out with your Doctor. You don't say how old you are but if you are a young female in a relationship I would have wondered if you were pregnant. My apologies for guessing this possibility and no offence meant. It is still worth a check with your Doctor in case of any other health problems.

probably muscele, it sux but its unavoidable if u wanna do exercise but its better than bein flabby
