go online and find a "BMR calculator." It will give you a very accurate number as far as how many calories you're burning per day according to what you plug in as far as your activity levels. Once you have that number (calories you burn everyday,) you can tailor your diet to drop weight as slowly or as quickly as you want, although the general consensus is to drop no more than 2lbs a week. To drop 2lbs a week, you need to eat 7000calories LESS, per week, than you're eating now. 1lb of fat equals 3,500 calories, hence to drop 2lbs of fat, you need to burn off 7000 extra calories a week....
If you're already eating a lower calorie diet and the act of taking away 7000cal a week would leave you eating NOTHING at all, you may have to INCREASE your calories everyday to drop weight. Sounds crazy, but dropping your calories too low will stall out your metabolism and your body will react by going into "starvation mode" and trying to store everything you eat as fat, no matter how little you eat.
So, go online, straighten out your calorie issue, and then look up some workouts while you're at it.....running one mile is a warm up for most people.......there's a ton of better ways you can go about getting the results you want.
