Start a diet - any diet you find and like, as many of them are really working. I can suggest you Japanese diet for beginning: you will continue to burn fat after this diet .
Exercise - it can be just walk (5 km per day at the beginning), run, dance,swim
If you would like to continue - change the diet after two weeks - start new one, continuing exercising. The secret is the body not to get used with the particular diet
Do not give up if you do not lose weight as fast as you want. The body needs time to react.

omg u need to gain weight if anything ur already on the verge of looking skeletol......

at 5'7" and 120 lbs, you are average. i'm wondering why you would want to lose weight? i would say youre absolutely fine! just be happy with what you are now and enjoy your teenage years. dont worry about weight..unless it's detrimentally affecting your health. if you dont like certain areas of your body, you can try eating healthy while toning up. but to put my two cents in, i dont think you should lose any weight.

try excersizing.

You should not be thinking of dieting at your age, and size. 120 is a great weight for your height. It is a little on the thinner side but healthy for you. Before you even consider it talk with your doctor and I am quite certain he/she will agree.

EDIT: Why are you giving thumbs down to everyone who says you are fine the way you are and don't need to lose weight? At your age and you weight you are well within the guidelines and actually at the low end. You should listen to those who are telling you that. Why bother to ask a question if you are going to give those with proper answers a thumbs down?

Sweetie, you DO NOT need to loose weight at all! I would give anything to be that height and weight. I am sure a lot of other girls would as well. Why do you think you need to loose weight?

I'm 14, 5'9'' 125lbs, and I certainly do NOT need to lose, in fact I could stand to gain.

you should be doing alot of running thats the best way; i was less then 105 pounds [5'4"] during cross country season and i was still eating 5000 calories a day.

losing 1 or 2 pounds a week is the best way and the most effective because the weight stays off. you can never trust fast weight loss. just take out 500 calories off your diet and exercise. never eat trans fat and limit saturated fat. good fats come from vegetables and avocados/guacamole.
