One "Cheat Day"?!

Question: I'm trying to lose weight- im not really fat or chubby but i want to get more toned and lose the fat on my tummy and thighs. I'm 5'4" and about 114 pounds. I've lost 2 pounds since last monday. (I started about 116).

If I've been eating really well and exercising, but today I went out and while I was gone I had a chocolate chip cookie and a small muffin. And I'm going out for dinner and probably having a slice of birthday cake for dessert. I know it's "cheating" but is it okay if it happens just once a week? I'll get back on track tomorrow...

Now I know it's not good- but will it really affect my diet?

yes. it throws you body of track.
here, let me explain.
by reserving one day a week, preferably once every two weeks, to eat high calorie foods, your metabolism is caught off gaurd. if it is used to having, say, 1500 calories a day, and you have 2000 calories, then you will lose more weight the next day if you go back to eating 1500. your metabolism is probably on high, so dont worry about gaining any weight.
it is kind of a way to "trick" your body. dont worry about it. :)
as long as you drink plenty of water, you'll be fine.

No, actually a "cheat day" is good for your diet! If one day a week you have a little slice of cake, chocolate, chips...whatever you've been craving, it can actually help you stay on track. Just don't over do it. As long as you don't deprive yourself you should do well!!

As long as you don't let it become a binge (eating like this, compulsively for days) and as long as you don't let it effect your state of mind, you should be okay.

Well, it would really be best if you could stop at the chocolate chip cookie and muffin, because adding a slice of cake really overdoes it.

You should have one day a week where you allow yourself a few more calories and maybe 1 treat. But don't overdo it because it's only sabotaging your effort.

you should wait till you get to where you want to be physically and then have a "cheat meal" on a random occasion, eating right is paramount to fitness it's a lifelong path.
