How to lose 15 pounds and get strong lean stomach muscles?!

Question: I need to lose 15-20 pounds by mid-April. My hubby has been in Iraq since July '07 and in this time I've gained 25 pounds. He'll be back for R&R around the 3rd week of April. I am not considered very overweight, I have talked to my doctor and he said that losing up to 20 pounds is ok. I'm 5'-3" and I weigh 140ish pounds. My BMI is 25.2 which is a high normal, but I'm looking for 21 or 22 which is a low to mid-normal. I go to the gym every morning for at least 4-5 days a week for 45 minutes to an hour doing straight up cardio, and I eat healthy food and still seem to have a hard time losing. I need a daily plan, each meal, snacks, work out tradegies, times and the hole nine yards to acheive my goal. I dont work so even a day that calls for working out for a half an hour 2-3 times a day will be fine. I really would like to look my best for when he comes home for his 18 days. Its the least I can do since he's busting butt serving our country. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks!

You seem to be doing well with the cardio and diet portion, but do you work your core? Meaning sit-ups/crunches, squats lunges and weightlifting. This'll firm up your muscles. Your body also gets used to certain excersizes, so switch it up a little.

I can't think of specific things, but I've heard the Mediterranean diet is great for healthy weight loss, you can research it, and here's a website that goes over what it involves: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/mediter...
And here's one that goes over day by day meal plans: http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/health/d...

Apart from that, I can only say good luck and that I wish you and your husband the best, my brother's unit is leaving in May and I know how difficult it can be.

Good luck!

Have you called jenny yet?
