If im 13 and trying to lose weight should i do weight training.?!


Question: i can lift up 10lbs dumbells in each hand.
but i dont want man arms.
i want to lose fat.

if i should weight train, how often and what weight?

I think it's best start with something simple like the 5 or 10 lb dumbells and do a few sets of reps.
Best thing for you is to build muscle which will burn more fat on you at any particular time.
The thing with some people they're so worried that their arms or something will look too muscular, like man arms.
I mean, does it matter? I have seen women with muscular arms, or athletic looking arms and I think they look absolutely great!
Don't worry so much about how it'll look but instead the awesome benefits you'll get, which will make you feel absolutely fantastic!

There are million and one different types of programs you could be on. Yes you can start weight training with no bulk. The best thing you can do is get in touch with a local trainer at your gym for a fitness consult. Most are free, and if your parents are willing to foot a few sessions, do it. But at least they will be able to point you in the right direction of what machines/free weights that will be the most efficient and safest for you to do. They will also get you going on the right cardio machines, and should go over your diet since that can make or break any fitness program. Good luck!

Just brouse around there and you will get some great ideas.

Begin with a 30 minute aerobic walk.
Do free weights in small amounts.
Swim the Australian crawl 30 minutes.
Use a kick board for 30 minutes
Do the breast stroke 30 minutes
Eat 6 very small balanced meals.
This is the ideal. Actually the walking and small balanced meals is all you really have to do.
