Treadmill--Why do I only feel like I've gotten a workout after an hour?!
Question: I just recently began back on a daily regime of using the treadmill. I used to walk for 20 mins (increasing mph and elevation) and I felt like this was a good workout.
Now, I have to remain on for at least an hour before I even break a sweat.
I know that I am not more conditioned then I was when I was walking 20 mins.
Any advise?

Intensity and duration are inversely related. Yes you can exercise for an hour but your intesnsity is probably very low. If you want to feel the same way in 10 or 20 minutes, you'll have to up your intensity. Run faster or up hill. When your intensity goes up, your duration will have to come down.

instead of walking for an hour just try running for 10 mins
because your body is getting fit. It will require more workouts and longer durations to be well statisfied. You have to change up your work out and make it harder, different activities, different muscle groups being used and different times of the time. The more your body is "surprised" by your activities the harder it will work and the more calories you will burn for fast weight loss
well u probably got more energy from doing 20 minutes just because u dont see results doesnt mean that there arent any maybe u didnt lose weight but gained more energy
Increase the speed that you use on the treadmill, increase the elevation. If you have been using it for awhile, then you are more conditioned and it will take more effort to get the same amount of overload then before. Your doing good, keep it up.
