Do cross leg crunches. Lay down on your back, cross your ankles and spread your knees as far apart as you can. Now do a crunchy, about 10 inches of the floor. Hold for a count of 5 and concentrate on your abs muscles, contracting them as hard as you can. Then go down and repeat. If you hold the count and concentrate, you will only be able to do about 10 to 15 crunches. This type of exercise works the abs instead of the hip flexors. If you do 10 to 15 of these, it will be the same as 75 to 100 sit-ups.
