Most likely they will tell your family. However, the National Eating Disorders Association does provide both online support and a toll free information and referral help line.

Helpline volunteers provide support services, help, and guidance to individuals struggling with disordered eating, their loved ones, and families. Live helpline hours are Monday - Friday: 8:30am - 4:30pm Pacific. The number is 1(800) 931-2237

Congratulations on having the intelligence to recognize your own problem and the courage to seek help in battling it.

Good luck dear!

They probably will tell your mom. They're just going to want what's best for you and your mother needs to know so she can help you through it. Honey you're beautiful the way you are, you don't need to hurt yourself to feel better.

depends on the person. but i wood go 2 a trustful friend 4 this 1

Well, you could try talking and tell them to keep it confidential.

Well counselors have to be very careful about that. Generally, if you explain to them that you need to talk to them, but that first they must promise not to burden your mother with the information, most likely they will keep it between you, them, and a professional (a doctor). The policy is, they cannot discuss anything you tell them unless you are planning to hurt yourself- and in this case it is a disorder, not something that you are necessarily "planning" to do.
Just let them know that you have a problem but that you would rather keep it from your family. They will understand.
Good luck!

they will tell your mom no matter what, its stupid i think. you could always say its your friend but don't give any names out or say its you, that no one will find out.

well i had an eating disorder also it is a pretty crappy time my parents told me they would have been prouder of me if i had told them rather than catching me in the act so i would tell ur parents they will help you and admire you for coming out with it they will get you help and it takes time to get over it i dont know if i would go outside of family with the info i hope this helps you out
