Some low calorie snack suggestions?!

Question: I'm 126lb, 157cm looking to lose around 14lb. Anyone have any ideas for low calorie snacks? I usually love to graze through the day on biscuits, chocolate and potato chips and need some healthy alternatives!

You know what, try sniffing/sipping on vinegar or putting a spoonful of it in a glass of water and drink it. It takes the edge off your appetite. Or even just having a glass of water on its own can distract your stomach from thinking it needs filling. When you feel hungry, your stomach is telling you it wants new and fresh food/fat. By not giving it the food between meals when you feel hungry means it will use the fat you have stored in your body, causing you to lose weight. So think of feeling hungry as a good thing. Only eat at meal times, sticking to your recommended calorie intake. What I do is, if I cut it down to 1000 calories a day, I'd more likely say to myself that I could have only 750, using the other 250 for snacks or a dessert. Try that. You could for example, get a chocolate bar worth around that many calories, chop it up into bits and only have a bit of that when you feel hungry. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Well, a GREAT suggestion to lose weight faster is just live with NO snacks, i know it will be hard at first, but like me, you'll get used to it, and will be able to lose the unwanted weight faster.

BUT, if you absolutely HAVE to have those snacks, try baked chips instead of fried ones, and try having a baked potato here and there.

Try ryvita cracker bread, with cottage cheese and cucumber, that's tasty

A regular size apple contains 50 calories, oranges have about 80 and banana have about 110 calories. A piece of fruit makes a nice light snack. If you are trying to bit the hunger a small piece of cheese helps. Rice cakes are also fun to munch on. I love the white cheddar ones.

carrot sticks, cherry tomatoes, any fruit or veg really

erm something sweet try a snack a jack - or a good one i find is to sniff some vanilla extract - takes the craving away

try celery, peppers, apples, yogourt, v8 juice, bananas and cheese... like cubes of cheese or grated cheese

if you like chips i would suggest pita chips they taste great and are a lot better for you also try jello they are ussually only ten calories and keep you energized and if you are athletic be careful not to get no fat items get low fat so you have something to burn off while you are active

eat fruits, veggies, cottage cheese, and light yogurt.

you can also make homemade chips from sweet potatoes, beets, and other squashes. i can't cook, but it's easy. just slice those veggies with a potato slicer. drizzile salt and olive oil. bake in the oven at 275 for half an hour or so. yum!

for a start if u do a bit more exercise you dont have to cut down on eating snacks. i tend to just do a bit of exercising in my room when i watch tv or have the music blaring. but try eating low fat marshmallows. i enjoy them and aint that bad for you. cut down on the biscuits though as they really are bad for you. i should know. ive really cut down on them and i feel alot better for it.

Popcorn! Great low fat snack food! Minus the salt or sugar of course. I usually have mine with garlic powder and thyme. Yummy!

fruits

Granola bars
kalog bars
Cut down on take out
slim fast
yoplait
thing of that nature

The original fast snack fruit and veg, dried fruit as long as it is only small amounts. most fruit is around 50 cals e.g. a medium apple or pair, 2 satsumas or 2 plums= around 50 cals.small banana is around 80 to 90 cals.

I'm a big fan of snacks, especially lo-cal ones. Here are a few of my favorites:

Buy a box of fat-free (cinnamon or whatever you like) grahm crackers. Buy a container of Fat Free Cool Whip. It is very very very low cal too. Break apart a sheet of grahm crackers. Put 2 tablespoons of the cool whip on a half of a sheet of a grahm cracker, and then put the other half of the sheet on top (like a cool whip sandwich). Make a bunch of these sandwiches and freeze them overnight. They are the very low-cal equivalent of ice cream sandwiches!

CELERY, CELERY, CELERY...enough said. With salt.

Fruit snacks are sweet and fat free alternatives to chocolate, in case you are having a sugar craving. The best is fruit though.

its better to try not to snack on anything like crisps, biscuits, chocolate...

try special K snack/cereal bars, theyre only 90 calories, and are ideal for a calorie controlled diet...

or even better than that, try fruit and veg, like apples, bananas, pears, etc... or even carrot stick, celery sticks, etc... cut them fresh before work and take them to work with you... these would proberly be the better option, and fruit and veg are high in good nutrients and chemicals for your body to digest.
