I lost approximately 30 lbs. using Alli in a little over 2 months, am still using it.

It doesn't make you jittery or have any real psychological or physical side-effects say for one very big one you want to be very cognizant of.

Alli essentially causes your digestive system to not metabolize and absorb 25% of the fat you take in during a meal. This is half of the prescription strength, which cuts out approximately half of your fat intake. You take the pill with a fatty meal, you don't have to take it religiously, and can only take it with a fatty meal if you so choose. You will want to take a multi-vitamin and drink plenty of water to ensure you are getting all of your necessary daily requirements and not becoming dehydrated.

Now, for the side effect. As you are not absorbing that 25% of the fat you take it, you will evacuate it. That's right, it has to go somewhere and it will be discarded as waste. If you eat too much fat, you can expect to get diarrhea, get a (hate this visual but everyone seems to describe it this way) discharge that resembles pizza grease, and may experience cramping and an upset stomach.

The trick here is to limit your fat intake during a meal to no more usually than 15% fat intake, if you keep it at this level or below, you will be fine.

Alli's not an excuse to eat poorly and still lose weight, you will want to eat right and it will just give you that extra boost.

Good luck and don't get scared off by horror stories, eat right and it will be no problem. In 2 months I've only really experienced the side-effect one time, and was expecting it so hung close to the restroom for the remainder of the day and the cramping was pretty lousy.
