As has been stated muscle weighs more then fat. How much you weigh is not always a factor in how good you look. Its important to look at things like measurements around key area's where your trying to slim as well.

Your also more likely to start losing less weight or hardly any weight at all as weeks go by, don't let this get you down as it doesn't mean your achieving any less.

Sounds like your doing a great job so far, keep it up :-)

Muscle weighs more.

Maybe the body size got bigger ^^ so thats why your weight is more than before which is normal, and no its not fat unless you eat junk food and sat around!

muscles w8 more than fat

Muscle really does weigh more than fat (not just an excuse for chubby people like me), so if you are working out in the gym then you will put on muscle. If you want to just loose weight then focus on the running or swimming side of things.

Omg 1 lb now you are going to get heart disease and die.

personally, i think to loose 10.5 lbs in 2weeks might be a lil bit too much, since the healthy range is 4lbs per week.but all the same muscles weigh more than fat and i think you'll loose it soon if you keep doing your cardio.

A least its muscle you've put on and not flab!

Muscle does indeed weigh more than fat, but it does not appear from nowhere, to increase weight during exercise you need to consume the extra calories, examine all your intake (be honest & thorough) if your muscle mass is increasing it will itself be consuming more calories than before, therefore at the same calorific intake you will lose more weight not less. The figures do not add up, dont forget exercising increases your appetite.

Hiya....dont panic!

Take your body measurements so you can tell how many inch's your losing. The weight increase is not fat, its lean body mass and its a good thing. The more body fat you lose and the more lean body mass you gain, the more calories you will burn and therefore the more fat you will lose. Its dissapointing when you work hard and go without nice foods in order to lose weight and then you gain but this will settle. Give it another month and your body will adapt again and start melting the fat away once more.
Its easy putting the weight ofn, but it takes time getting it off......hold in there YOU CAN DO IT!

10.5lbs in 2 weeks is a great result. You might find that you're body is starting to react to a the new lifestyle. Afterall, it couldn't possibly let you keep losing 10.5lbs every 2 weeks, or you'd end up as nothing!

By the sound of it you've dramatically changed your lifestyle and eating habits, and your body is perhaps panicking over what to do about it. As a result it's responding by trying to restore an equilibrium, somehow, and that could be why you've put on 1lb.

If I were you I'd make sure I wasn't over doing it. Don't try to lose weight too fast - you've heard the expression yo-yo dieting? Slow but sure wins the race. Hard cardio 6 times a week from possibly having done very little exercise in the past is bound to shake your body up a bit, and it probably has no idea what's going on or how to effectively respond.

Essentially, if you burn more calories than you eat, you'll lose weight, but it's best not to chuck yourself in at the deep end. Will you be able to maintain hard cardio 6 times a week? What will happen when you stop? When you're body's used to burning about a million calories an hour, how will it cope when you stop? Probably by turning it all to fat!

Slow but sure is the best route. Develop the habit of exercise and diet, and it will be easy to keep it going.

Great post! I totally understand how you feel. I'm also trying to lose weight and I found this great product which is working for me (it's all 100% natural). You can check the website at

you are not putting on fat its muscle. Muscle is heavier than fat. start checking your body fat % this will give you a more accurate assesment of gains. 10.5lbs is too much weight to lose in 2 wks most of that will b water loss. Make sure to stay hydrated at least 2-3 litre a day if you are doing hard cardio.

Stay positive and congrats

Muscle. As well as going by weight, go by an item of tight clothing to see how many inches you are losing.
