How long will it take to lose a stone, if i only eat 500-600 cals a day?!

You will lose weight by taking 500-600 calories a day and you'll do it fast - about 1lb per day - but it'll be tough and you'll end up by feeling weak and irritable.

Ignore those people that go on about 'starvation mode' as that's rubbish. If you do it long-term then that would happen, but not for a few weeks. I couldn't eat anything after my first husband died and I lost three stone in about 6 weeks. I started eating again and still lost further weight.

If you go onto about 1000 calories a day then you will still lose it fast - I'm on that at the moment and I lost 5lbs last week.

Anything under 1000 and you'll just feel ill.

woah- don't do that, do at least 1200 calories... you NeeD that to live (unanorexically) and you will still lose weight fast !!

eating 500-600 cal's wont help you lost weight. One you go below 1000 cal's, your body goes into starvation mode, which then stops your metabolism..making you lose weight even slower. Try having 1200-1500 for the fastest healthy route.

In order to lose 1Ib in weight you need to burn/use/ save approx 3,500 calories. The average calories neededby a female your height in a day is 2,000. This needs adjusting depending on whether you live a sedintary life or are very active. You ask how long it would take to lose x amount if you only eat 500 or 600 calories per day. The thing is it doesnt work like that because at a certain point your body will slow its metabolic rate down if you dont` eat at least a 1000 calories oer day and morew if you a active. If you eat less then your body will believe it is starving and slow down the rate that it burns calories. Thatts why when people do a quick weight ,lose it quickly bottoms out. The best plan if you want to lose the weight and keep it lost is to lose 2lbs a week - thats 7,000 calories burned over and above the calorie intake during that week by food.

Initially you can seem to lose 5lbs in 2days but this is deceptive because what you are losing is not fat but water mostly. Also if you exercise you will burn off calories of course. The thing here is that muscle weighs more than fat but takes up less room. That`s why muscular people can be slim but weigh more. Your best test on weight lose therefore is measurments of chest, waist, hips rather than the scales :)

you will lose weight but when you start eating again you have to be careful not to pile the weight back on. Because then your body will hold every calorie you give it. That's why so many people yo yo.
Prob take about 4wks.
