How much protein should I eat a day?!

Question: I heard it was 1g for each pound of muscle but how can anyone know how many pounds of muscle they have?

On average 0.8 g/kg of total body weight. If you are pretty athletic, or trying to gain muscle mass then you might increase to 1.2 g/kg of total body weight. Don't worry about the amount of lean body weight you now have to determine what you need. Americans get much more protein than they need on average. Of course, GNC and all the muscle mags will tell you different. Then again, all their ads are about buying protein supplements...um. Below is a pretty good link explaining what are the requirements and how fast your body can even put on muscle tissue.

enough not to feel tired!

It depends. If you actively lift and workout you want to get a lot of protein particularly from supplementing. Otherwise just healthily.

You need about 8g, which is very easy to get. Don't over-do it. Eat plenty of veggies too.

im in foods and it said you have to at least eat 7 meals of protein a day

5-8 grams of lean meat is good
