Do Squats Make Your Thighs Thinner?!


Question: I am trying to build muscle in my legs and have been doing squats for 3 weeks now. I notice that my thighs are thinner but my butt looks gr8.

Should I add weights to help with building muscle?
Can You suggest any othr Leg building excercises I might Like?

To add SIZE:
Use a weight you can lift about 8 times
To TONE UP:
Use a slightly lighter weight, one you can lift about 12 times (if you can't lift it 12 times you're lifting too much and it's more for size than tone)

Based on what you said there it sounds like you wanna add a bit of size so take option one for now.

Other exercises you can try at home are:
Lunges (Thighs, like a squat only one leg at a time)
Calf Raises (calf) to do this one just stand normally and then push yourself up onto your tiptoes, tensing your calves as you hit the top of the movement.

If you go to a gym:
Leg Press machine(basically a machine version of a squat)
Leg Extension machine(just works thighs, so it's a little harder than squats because the muscle is totally isolated whereas it's more spread out during squats)
Leg Curls machine (hamstrings)
Leg Adductor & Abductor machines (inner+outer thighs)

Squats will work glutes (butt) and quads (top of thighs).

You can further increase your thighs by working the hamstring (back of thighs) using leg-curls.
