Why is it that I hardly eat anything of a meal yet I don't lose weight?!

Question: I need to lose quite a bit of weight, as I have done for years, but I don't really know how i can eat less than I do. I realise I need to exercose with it to be able to lose weight, which is the plan I am putting into action, but why is is that I can only eat about a quarter of a meal before I fell full? I feel I really need to understand this to be able to lose weight in the best way. Has anyone any ideas? I don't eat much at all (but I am very lazy!). I don't eat breakfast and then when I am starving by mid afternoon, I make a bowl of pasta(weightwatchers!) or an omelette and eat half of it at the most before I am full. Even though I was so hungry before I ate, I can't finish the meal. Can anyone explain why this is?

Your body is screwed up because of your extremely poor eating habits. Your stomach will feel somewhat shrunken, so though you'll feel hungry, you'll have trouble taking in a normally portioned meal. Going long periods without eating puts it into a semi starvation mode. This means that when you DO eat, you'll store it.

You'll have a LOT of trouble losing weight until you improve the way you function. In fact, you'll probably gain a little at first after you fix it, until your body adjusts.

Start adding in more meals, though smaller, more often. Make sure they're well balanced, and make sure you're eating a bare minimum of 1200 calories a day. Even that is only acceptable if you are inactive. When you start adding in the exercise component of weight loss, you should be taking in a bit more, at least 1500 calories a day, or more for weight loss. Once you've reached your goal weight, you should be taking in 2000 to 2500 calories a day to maintain your weight, and remain active.

Your exercise, by the way, should be almost exclusively cardio-based at first. Exercises that will tone you up when you've lost some of that fat will just add muscle into the area and make you look bigger if you do it too soon. 60-90 minutes 4 or more times a week in your target heart rate range will do the trick.

probably a slow metabolism for why you don't loose weight

when you dont eat a lot your metabolism slows down so if you eat again youll gain even more weight. you should eat normally but try to cut down on the sugar. remember that fake sugar is even worse for you though. the only thing you have to do after this is cardio 20+ minutes a day. preferably 1hr a day

You're consuming more calories than you are burning. Try drinking 8 glasses of water which increases your metabolism. Then walk at least one mile a day. Stay away from caffeine and sugar drinks. Eat green vegetables and lots of fruit. Ensure you intestinal tract is being cleaned out. Add some fiber to your diet so you can clean out your colon. I bet you that you will lose weight after a month.

I think when you lower the amount of food you eat for a long time, your stomach gets smaller and needs less food to be full. So if you compare how much you eat now and how much you ate before, there could be a difference.

Maybe cause you dont eat breakfest

Your body is probably going into starvation mode. (This is why what little you eat, you don't lose.) Your body will hold onto whatever it can just to maintain it.

As far as you feeling full, well, if you constantly eat little bits and skip meals, your stomach literally shrinks and you feel full sooner because it actually is "full".

Start doing the exercise and start eating more small meals. It actually is better to eat 5 small meals a day.

Don't eat junk food and consider that a small meal. Fruit and veggie snacks, etc.... many websites out there that give examples of what you can eat (and stay healthy). Just Google it.

If you dont eat your metabolism slow down in order to save energy....simple like that....u still can lose some weight starving yourself, but you will gain back as soon as you start eating....the best way is exercise and cut down your portions, so after lose weight it will be easier to keep it....

Eating less is not the answer to loosing weight. When you eat less, your metabolism slows which allows you to loose no weight what-so-ever. You need to eat all three meals a day but eat healthy! Try eating more fruits and vegetables and drink water!! Water is crucial to having a healthy body. Also, you don't have to do a full intense workout. You can do a few stretches, take walks/ slow runs, lift weights while watching a movie/tv, do some crunches here and there. Hope this helps.
