I think only people who feel self confident and don't like being overweight go on a diet, not people who are happy in their own bodies like you are. Unfortunately, it isn't only large people who are ridiculed, human nature is so that anyone who is slightly different from the perceived 'norm' is targeted for bullying.
Good on you, that's all I can say. I wish more people were just happy with who they are!

good for you

what does slagging mean?

Because there are alot of cruel guys out their that only go by appearances

you need to take care of your health that is why most people go on diets.. to live better and fuller life. got to do it for yourself

It's unhealthy to be "Big & bubbly"

It's great that you feel comfortable in your body. Unfortunately, a lot of people aren't

May be they are not comfortable being big and bubbly.

Because it's unhealthy. That is my main problem with it all. Why wouldn't anyone want to be healthy. It feels just as good as eating and smoking.

Humans are naturally averted to unhealthyness because it means that any potential offspring will be unhealthy. So when a fit attractive man looks at YOU they think "Oh My God Fatty Fatty fudge cow she must have no self control and eat piggy piggy pies all day and have blocked arteries and high piggy porky blood pressure. I don't want to mate with her - our offspring will be piggy piggy bunte porkers and will die early and not continue on my family line and endanger the survival of my genetic lineage. From now on I must avoid piggy fatty fudge cows."

Hope this helps x

well, people think they are better than others if they dont have the same disability but each and every human is inperfect in their own way

It's really a feat to be happy with your appearance and stature. Congratulations to you. Some however, (myself included) find that extra pounds are unhealthy. When I weigh more, my blood pressure is very high. Some people develop diabetes. Others develop cardiovascular problems. So, although it is more then wonderful to be happy with one's appearance, living a long and healthful life may require some people to not weigh as much as they could.

I feel the exact same way..... I think that if you are healthy and feel good about yourself.....WHO CARES if you are overweight. I personally think overweight people are more approchable then skinny people,,,,,, skinny people to me are always to judgemental! I saw BIGGER IS BETTER !!!!!

That's fine for you.

I personally cannot go out to dance at a club or have a drink with friends at a bar because I have severe asthma. I didn't choose to have asthma, and I cannot help it. You can help smoking.

Many people who go on a diet to lose weight aren't just doing so to look better, they are also trying to get healthy. Being healthy is good.

well its important to be haelthy why people stay away from smokers..if i didnt smoke id stay away from smokers myself..as far as tryng to lose weight..its again a health issue..heart desease, diabetese and such runs in my family..and if i dont drop the pounds im gonna be sick

personally--- i believe that it is all the media
i come from a family where some members are a little overweight nd others are underweight--- but we are all healthy.
if we are happy with ourselves and our FAMILY is happy, then i believe that there is no reason to go on a diet.

if you are happy nd healthy for the most part, then dieting is unnecessay.
it is unneeded for other people to express their opinions about others when they should worry about themselves

hope i helped =]

Because society and the media have made us think we should all look a certain way. When in reality, none of us could ever look like what we see in magazines or on TV. It is just not real. The more diets one goes on the fatter one gets and the people who writes the books make more money.

If you like being as you are now then that is fine by me,I think its time people stopped conforming to false ideals.I would sooner be as I am now to looking like a clothes prop (a few curves).

Times are changing. Back in the day, people who smoked were seen as cool, because it was something you could do if you were old enough and no one knew the damage it could do. Today is very anti-smoking because we know what long term and short term damage it can do, not only to the smoker but to others aswell.

People are ripped off for being fat because they are seen as different compared to what is being promoted in magazines. Today, everyone is being exposed to photo shopped pictures of people who have been under the knife that many times they create an unrealistic image that is accepted as being normal. Fat is only fat because it has been labelled as that and discriminated against. When I look at a "fat" person, I see a normal person, an individual who isn't giving into the peer pressures that society has to offer. A woman is meant to be curvy, not a stick.

There's plenty of things you can do without a pub. Go out for tea, have a BBQ, have a trivia night or a pampering night. Alcohol doesn't make good times, people do.

Hope this helps you.

I'm pleased for you that you feel so happy in your skin.
I am on a diet at the moment, but that is because I am not happy in mine. I know I would feel healthier and sexier at a stone or two lighter.
Your other points are very valid though. The government wants to interfere in every part of our lives and we are slowly losing all our personal freedoms.
I guess that eventually we will all start having house parties instead of going out because our homes will be the only place we are allowed to do anything!

better health, live longer, think better, better stamina, perform in bed better, etc.

Virtually any biological reason.

And what I am going to say next goes against any medical ethics that I have:
feel content with yourself; sod what the benefits are. If these benefits are not important to you and you like being big and bubbly, sod what everyone else thinks.

There are health problems associated with being overweight, but most people who say that is the real reason they have a problem with fat people are kidding themselves. It's the media and the images of thin girls that is so ingrained into people's consciousness that makes people think thinner is better. The diet and surgery industries make billions out of perpetrating the idea that skinny = good, we all believe it and buy their products, and as a by-product, being overweight has become undesirable.

Even in this country, being plump used to be a positive thing because it showed you can from a family that was well off enough to afford plenty of food, and bigger girls were therefore quite a catch! Biologically, men should be attracted to women with large hips in comparison to their waists, whatever their dress size, but the media images promoting thin-ness seem to have overridden even this.

I don't want to diet. When people ask me if I am happy with my body I point out to them that all the parts of my body are in the right place and do what they are meant to do and that I am fit and healthy because I exercise regularly. If you are happy with yourself then that is great, but if not then people who want to diet should. And smoking is gross.
