Weight watcher 0 point soups..whats with this?!


Question: i went to the store and bought a bunch of the progresso weight watchers soups that are 0 points per serving and when i went home to make it my stepmother took the can and pointed out that the sodium in it is through the roof...how is that much sodium good for u? especially if you are trying to lose weight?

Any pre-packaged products that you buy are going to be high in sodium because sodium is one of the ingredients used to preserve products in canning, freezing, drying, etc.

Weight Watchers calculates the points of foods by taking into consideration fat, calories, and fibre. Sodium, while not necessarily healthy in large doses, does not directly affect weight loss.

There is sodium in everything you eat and if your eating a complete healthy diet, drinking plenty of water and do not already require a restricted diet (ie low sodium) there shouldn't be a problem unless your eating 20 cans of it a day!
