Calories are a measurement of ENERGY.
You need to BURN more calories than you EAT to loose weight.
Otherwise the excess energy just sits in you're body as fat.
That's quite a simplified answer, but it's basically how it works :D
The is nothing wrong with calories. Calories are simply energy that is put into the body. What is wrong is how many calories a person ingests. Too many calories= weight gain, Too few=low nutritional health and weight gain. Of course too many of the wrong calories could equal low nutritional health as well.
