I barely eat and I'm "overweight"?!


Question: bout 7 months ago this birth control Alesse made me gain about 30 pounds in 2mnths, I switched to Ortho and have noticed I'm slowly returning back to my old self appetite-wise however I have only shed about 15 pounds and haven't been able to lose anymore. I am 5' 3 and weigh 154, however I understand that I won't be able to lose much because of my natural figure, I'm still curious as to why I weigh so much still if I really only eat about once a day average, I don't eat out, I RARELY snack and I drink water and about 4 Sierra Mist's a day with a nutritous home cooked meal. I have talked to my doctor about it and all she says is "take B12 vitamin and don't overeat" Also I get light exercise everyday, I'm thinkin about jump roping. Anyways..All I plan to lose is about 10 pounds. Any idea why I'm like this? I have searched the internet for people like me and haven't found anyone. Any suggestions on anything?

Have you had your Thyroid checked? Also keep in mind your not "overweight" according to me :) . I'm 5'1" and weighed 150 before I got pregnant. I had a lot of muscle, I think I looked good. I've had two babies and now weigh 133, but am not near as muscular. I'm only one size smaller. Everyone is different and I hated that websites and statistics said I was overweight... I bet your beautiful!

*** Added this... cut out the pop or go with Diet, the sugar turns straight to fat... TRUTH... Hubby lost 10lbs by cutting out regular pop and drinking diet!

it is the way you are... just enjoy your figure... talk to your doctor if you feel so uncomfortable with your self

When in doubt, try harder.

Eating once a day is not a good idea. When you don't eat, your brain thinks you are starving and slows down your metabolism. You should eat at least 3 small meals a day and eat fruit or raw veggies for snacks. Drink a lot of water and excercise like walking.

First of all, just because you only eat one or two meals per day doesn't mean you're not overeating unfortunately. Its very common for people to underestimate their portion sizes, thus overeating and still thinking they "barely eat." I know this is difficult because your eating habits and weight has fluctuated so much lately. Try eating about 5-6 small meals throughout the day. You're drinking plenty of water, which is good, so continue with that and make sure you have a glass before each minimeal. Also take your time eating. Put down your fork from time to time, talk with your family, and check in with yourself frequently to see if you feel full. Good luck!
