Depending on your body type... Some people have thick middles and will never have lean sculpted abs... Diet is key...

The key to working your abs is VARIETY... if you do the same thing every day you won't see results.. Here are few different exercises to try. You can work your abs every day!

Buy a book and do something different each day - if you're not familiar with the terms.. google them online, get a book or ask a fitness instructer at the gym

You mean fat covering your abdominals? The best workout would be a cardio based routine because bodyfat has to be lost over the entire body. A lot of people are under the impression that doing crunches will help you lose fat around the abdominals which is not true.
So yea as I said above, do cardio about 3-4 times a week for 30 minutes and eventually the bf% will decrease. At first it might not be around your abdominals but it will eventually get there.

You cant spot reduce, you have to total body fat reduce by sweating a little"! Anything will do - swimming, running, cycling, step, aerobics, what floats your boat! So long as you are not gorging at the same time it will work, but just a gentle stroll wont!

Cardio exercise and cutting down on calorie intake should do the trick. You will loose weight off your entire body so any 'problem' areas such as the tummy might take a little longer for you to see any real difference. You need to be 3500 calories deficient to loose 1lb in weight. So if you normally ate 2000 cals a day and cut down to 1500 you would be down 3500 cals in a week. If you did 30 mins of cardio 5 days a week you would burn about 300 cals a day so an additional 1500 cals. So if you stuck to this you should loose over a lb a week and you would soon see results. Abdominal crunchies will strengthen the stomach muscles making it appear more defined and body ball, yoga and pilates strengthen the posture which can also make you appear slimmer. Some area's are really difficult to shift fat off. For me personally, I went down to 8stone 10 (at 5ft6) and my legs remained chunky. I considered loosing more weight but people had already said that my face was looking a little gaunt. I then thought about liposuction but too expensive for me. For me, I just try to stay healthy and try to accept chubby legs. Good luck with everything!
