its not just the foods you eat..its also how often you eat...if you break up your meals alittle more throughout the day than your body will be constantly burning caloires, cuz it knows more "Fuel" is coming so it desposes itself of the storage of calories..thats how you sped up your metabolism..eat more often, not necessarily more food

Eat proteins like chicken, nuts, and whole grains with your exercise and it will help speed up your metabolism.

Protein is essential in increasing metabolism. Also making sure your diet is properly balanced with essential vitamins, especially B's and C. Don't eliminate carbohydrates but focus on complex carbs (whole grains for example) vs. sugar and processed flour products.

lemons!
but don;t have too many or your teeth will rot

protein.. excercise helps tremendously its not all diet FYI.

Some good news and bad news. Bad News: your metabolism which is goverened by your thyroid function is somewhat genetic and naturally slows as we age. The good news: there is a few things you can do to speed it up. Number one- Lift Weights, research has shown that resistance training is the most effective type of exercise for speeding the metabolism as it is required to repair damaged cells more rapidly. Secondly there is a variety of foods that affect your thyroid and therfore your matabolism. The thyroid friendly foods are selenium and iron, selenium can be found in sunflower seeds, otherwise you might invest in a good solid multi. Foods which can inhibit thyroid funtion are soy products and raw cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower etc. And also thats a big N O on the green tea as it contains traces of chlorine and fluride which can block iodine receptors and as I mentioned earlier Iron is mucho importante. Hope that helps you out, I found a site on it http://www.thyrophoenix.com/bad_foods.ht... but it doesnt mention good foods.
