Question: So I'm 13 and I have been vegetarian for around 5 months.
Then people started telling me that if I dont eat meat, It will stunt my growth, because I'm really young and such.
Is this true?

No, it can't. The only thing that you need to do is keep really good track of your diet. Make sure that you are getting plenty of vitamins and minerals, and protein. Think of things that you would normally get from meat, lacto, or ovo, if you're a vegan. A lot of times, people will suffer from B-12 deficiency, it can be dangerous if you do not watch these things, but if you do it right, you will be perfectly safe. I've been a vegetarian for three years, vegan for two. I'm eighteen years old, and 5'8". The main thing to remember is that you have to pay close attention. You may even want to talk to your doctor about the best vitamins to take. That is what i did.

yes start eating meat quick

There was a study that stated that children who did not have access to red meat in their diets had brains which developed differently. I am not aware of height being the subject of a study directly. You should take your vitamins as alway--there is one nutrient found in meat that you can not get from greens, however it is covered in any multivitamin.

I have a friend who is a vegetarian and has been for several years. I used to be alot smaller than her however over the past 3 years she has not gotten taller and I have massively over taken her. I am about 5ft 4 or 5 inches and she is about 4ft 11 inches if that. From meat you gain alot of essential nutrients needed for growing, my advice is eat meat [I know your against it] until your about 18 and if you still want to become a vegetarian. As being a young vegetarian can seriously damage your development.

not as long as you get enough protein from other sources.

No! It doesn't stunt your growth. People are always trying to scare vegetarians into eating meat. For some reason meat eaters have people being vegeterians. I would just recommend you eating protien. You can get protien from peanut butter, tofu, cheese, nuts, eggs, soybeans, wheat nd much more :)

No. As long as you eat a varied diet with lots of nutrients, it doesn't matter if you include meat. Lots of people are raised vegetarian from a very young age or even birth and turn out fine. Get adequate protein, iron and fats and you'll be fine. At thirteen, you've probably done most of your growing anyway (puberty and all), so you may not get much taller, but you can blame your genes, not your diet!

I am vegetarian and I'm also 13. I haven't ate meat and fish in around 2 years. Because of the body needs protein, when you have to eat something with protein, instead of meat. I eat different kind of beans every day. I very lucky, that my mom is cooking it every day.

Being a vegetarian in such a young age, will it be great to have a supporting family.

It will be fine, if you eat beans, or things will protein. You will growth. BTW, there is some pills with protein, you can take daily..

Why mess with your body ? Humans are designed to eat and digest meat, we have been doing so since the human race first populated this earth, and they will have eaten it raw !!
As part of a varied diet it is nothing but good for you and you would not have to worry about developing normally, taking chemicals in the form of pills as a substitute for what you are possibly lacking is not the answer either.
You only have one life, you don't get a re-run !
